Angry The front of my RS looks like it's 10 years old.......

Every time I wash my car, I find more damage that wasn't there the last time I washed it. @#%$& this makes me so freakin mad! As I drive down the local southern California freeways, I see ***** flying at me from all directions. Rock and gravel trucks, pieces of seperated tread from Firestone radials, I mean I can hear this ***** hitting my windshield. Arrggggggggggg!@!#*$@ Some time next year I'm going to have my windshield replaced for a SECOND time, along with my headlights and foglights. Speaking of fog lights, my glass lenses are so pitted, they look frosted. And I will also have to have my hood and front bumper repainted. I swear, southern California must have the filthiest freeways in the US.

Sorry for the rant. At least it had Subaru content..........

My front end looks pretty bad after just 7-1/2 months. I figure sometime in the future (year or two) I'll just get the front end repainted well and the rest of the car touched up, then clearcoat it about 20 layers or something.

Arg,

Can't help you with the bumper and windshield but.... The fog lights should be pretty easy to fix. Use BRASSO!!!!! The stuff works wonders and is only about $2.00 to $3.00 a bottle. I have a MY94 SVX LSI and my headlight covers looked as if they were completely frosted. You could hardly see the bulbs behind them. I cleaned them first with windex and then I used the Brasso. They went from looking frosted to looking like they should. Crystal clear. I can see the bulbs once again!!!! All you have to do is put some on a clean cloth/rag and use a small circular motion on the foglights or headlights. Allow to dry and buff off with another clean cloth/rag. Dependind on how badly they are frosted/pitted you can do it a couple of times and they should come out looking alot better if not new

Hey up..

I run a product called Amourfend.

It is a thick clear stick on plastic/rubber that goes on the panels that are most at rick from damage.... bumper... front of hood... wing mirrors... I have the stuff on my lights too...

You cant tell it is on.

I have no stone chips or marks...

It doesnt react to sun light/UV.. and it peels off without leaving a mark.

they should have a pre made "kit" for the Impreza...

i belive it's
www.stongard.com

but i can't get on the site right now...

I know Pete at Scoobysport had some Impeza Stongard type kits when i was there... (UK) just don't know how different they are from the US Impreza.....

nothing will get through Stongard and you cant even tell it's on there!

Question

Here is the direct link to the Stongard for RS

http://www.stongard.com/sgcontent/re...MakeModel=7011

As for the Brasso, can it remove scratches from the plastic face of my cell phone, or just destroy it worse? I can't find jewler's rouge anywhere to fix this, and I can't read the screen after squeezing between the car and garage door and dragging the phone on my belt across the garage door!

I have a MY98RS with 62k miles and it looks like I do all my driving following a sandblaster. I have considered replacing the bumper with a later model (large foglight). Does anyone have any experience with fiberglass aftermarket bumpers? How do they hold up to road debris? Are they more or less prone to pits and chips than the stock bumpers?
Thanks

Well i know what you guys are going threw, my front bumper looks like it is wraped with sand paper, it is that badly chipped/ pitted what ever you want to call it, i'll have no choice but to repaint it or up grade to newer body style bumper soon, i can't imagine what it will look like after this winter goes by, and they are saying that this winter in New England will be worst than last year! I probably won't have any bumper fascia left!

The bra will scuff up your paint and leave it looking scratched and flat (as opposed to gloss). I finally took the bra off because a few of the clips broke. After this winter I'll replace the front bumper, get the whole car repainted and put on that 3M clear bra. I've heard nothing but good things about it.
