Exclamation NESIC Meet - FOOD! ver 2.0

Okay - after talking to Ken, and my darling wife (who was on Ken's side ) I have seen the light.

Although the prospect of colleting $4 from everyone seemed like a good thought at the time, someone alwyas ends up short... Say you paid $4 for food. yet only got a hot-dog, and a can of soda. I'd be pissed too.

And the concept of cooking 90 hot dosgs, and 60 burgers was reasonably sound. Trying to figure out what people will eat on Saturday, and how many people will show - Is like trying to predict the delivery date of my brothers new EVO.

So, In "laid back" New England style - we'll ALL be responsible for our own BarBQ food. Bring enough food for your group. Buddy up with several people if you can, and get what you want at the market, and we'll all help cook it / eat it. We'll make sure there is enough charcoal, and we'll use the pits that are threre now. For example - some of the NH guys will get together, and bring burgers, dogs, charcoal, etc. It's stupid to drive down for a barBQ, and go to Wendy's.

This thread will serve as a "collective" list of what people are bringing - so as not to have too many redundant items. (Such as ketchup, mustard, etc.)I'm still planning to bring a cooler full of soda, and will get a bag of charcoal too.

To make it easy - start with the people you'r caravanning with.
For example - From NH, Ken, Myself, Jim, Chuck, Mark, Chad, Siper, Mike, Chris, Joe, Flea, Korey, etc., etc. (don't know if all these people are going) But I'll email / call them + see if they want to each bring an item. This also allows some creativity for stuff to bring, say your group want's lemon chicken with red peppers? If you can cook it on a barBQ grill - go for it!!

Thanks,
Kris

No beer, unless you plan on drinking it in the car while in route to or from CT.

Kris, since I am flying solo, I will probably just pack a cooler full of stuff for me. I am planning on autocrossing on Sunday too, so this would be a good thing for me to bring enough for both days. I will bring enough chips/snacks to share, and anyone is still hungry, they can come to the Autocross and eat my dust on Sunday! Ahh.. Ahh.. I crack myself up.

Ken, you must have really been thinking hard about cooking for all those people on your ride home from work today eh..

Actually I believe it's, eh? as in those Northerners from the 51st state

And, yes, most of the time I don't mind my 40 - 50 minute drive to work, scary, eh? I get time to think, unwind, listen to some tunes.

I'm going to bring myself a sandwich, chips, etc. For sharing, I'm bringing a 2-gallon jug full of ice-water and a couple bags of cookies (can never have enough cookies!)

Hmm.. I think perhaps some coordination is in order, I mean.. as much as I love eating a sandwich I made, it is a BBQ after all not a picnic. Jynx has the right idea, we still probbly wanna work together so we can get a good meal going..

I don't mind buying some food to share with anybody..

The whole group idea is great, if everyonbe brings something for themselves, and some extra, plus a group gets together and makes thier own menu, this could be lots of fun.

As for places around the Park to pick up some extra, there is a Grocery store about 10 min from the park, so thats an option for some.

I think Boomer, DeaconSvhiva and myself are going to be forming a small little group for food. Maybe Rufan can get in on it also.

Unhappy

Kris, just to let you know, I probably won't be there, because of work.

My boss took the weekend off, VERY last minute (called an hour late), and my two coworkers up and decided to take the night off tomorrow as "revenge," which sticks me by myself. I'm taking next weekend off to go see Christine, so I don't want to take any days off and risk anything. Seems like I'm the only one who cares. Maybe I shouldn't bother.

Who knows, if I get rebellious and leave early tonight, maybe I'll make it... And bring something, even if it's chips.

This company IS going bankrupt, so who knows... if I stick around NH after the downfall, I'll have some free weekends again...

Hmm. Let's see, I drive all the way to CT, and then have to be back in northern MA for 7pm, and I get a hot dog?

Some deal.

Well...... if I'd taken tonight off I might've made the meet tomorrow (er...today... it's 1:20am). It's just that I'm taking NEXT weekend off to go see my girlfriend for a week or so, and didn't want to press my luck with anyone.

Not like anyone seems to care, but...... call it an effort to achieve a half-decent work ethic.
