She will love the car, I like a lot of things are better about the legacy as far as build quality goes. 50% chance I installed or built your dash here at the subaru factory in Lafayette.

Awesome! It is soooo much better inside. It has that solid feeling our imprezas lack. To be honest I'm kind of jealous of it

Ya we use a bunch more sound dampening material in the legacy/outback. I too am jealous, but we also paid much less for it too.

She'll be jealous of your gas bill.

I was very close to getting the legacy as well. I made the right decision. Better fuel economy, cheaper, lighter, newer. The impreza is my commuter car so better to have cheap materials inside because it gets beat up so much.

Faguar has a lot of proving to do as far as reliability goes. In 10 years if even half of them are still on the road I might consider them respectable again.

I got my 12x24x3/8" sheet of hdpe yesterday, it was 15.76 off eBay and I can probably make 8 spacers out of it :-)

How's the sound compared to the turn down?

Similar, but more controlled. Real decent.

They did the more "open" muffler choice with an SLP Loudmouth II bullet style muffler.

So I just spent the better part of the afternoon installing my rear spoiler. I'm wishing now that I had just paid the $140 my dealer was asking to install it for me.

Not only did I strip the two outer bolts when installing the nuts, but I also snapped one of the two middle bolts! What a PITA! Luckily, I was able to re-thread the outer bolts with a couple of steel nuts I had lying around. I'm not even gonna mess with the snapped bolt. Its feels solid enough without it. I applied a ton of silicone around the hole where the snapped bolt is so hopefully it doesn't leak. The other thing that pisses me off is that I must of been a little off when drilling the holes so now the spoiler sits a little crooked. Its not too noticeable, but I know it is so of course its going to bug the crap out of me.

Just swapped out the fogs for the 12 outback fogs, what a difference. Factory wiring has no issues pushing 55w to each bulb. Actually installed hid kit in the fogs.

Buddy, what's the parts list needed to do said fog swap? And what bulbs does it use? Any writeups anywhere?

Why hids? The included bulbs plus yellow overlays are plenty bright

Did you aim them? If not everyone you pass will be pissed. What I noticed with mine is it doesn't take too much vertical adjustment to light up the top of the trees..

They have given you a link. To sum it up the bulb is h11 and I got the housing and pre made harness to go from factory to h11 bulb off of amazon. It's a must do if you live rural like I do and actually want fogs to function. And I upgraded to hid to color match the hid in headlight assy. I know I don't have projectors and I'm blinding people but I have aimed headlights too and it's not bad. Go ahead and tell me how stupid it is to do this... I don't care haha.

Just received my spoiler today. For what the install costs I figured I'd just buy the tools, needed an excuse for a drill, and be real careful. Sorry to hear about your misfortune.
