I think the question is how far the brake pedal has to travel while the car is being 'upset', as it's a really bad thing to be hitting it HARD while on the edge of traction anyways.
I don't think just tapping it, or left foot braking, will really turn it back on. And also, I bet if you're going straight and nail the brakes, I bet it won't turn back on either, as you're not really upsetting the car. However, using the brake to turn it back on in the 1st place is not a great idea, and can cause more problems on track than just having it stay off in the 1st place, mid corner. --kC |

Hmm I like they added the option of disabling traction control and ABS.
I seriously am warming up to the new Golf R. |

the esp was the the reason i was thinking of not getting the Golf R, i now may change my mind but i am worried on how much brake is required to turn it back on. some bigger autox's require some trail braking on the sweepers to square the corner especially with ones that are decreasing radius' but I am also going to have to wait and see if the wrx will change face again.

So basically you can put it in a sort of sport mode, but you press the brake and it's back to traction control etc mode? It sounds like a "safe" sport mode to me where you can't fully get into the fun of it.
