Impreza WRX STi Who are the best pro and non-pro Tuners in the TRI-STATE area?

I'm really new to this game and I just got myself a 04 STI with only a few minor mods on it and I wanted to get the ECU mapped or "flashed" because I don't know if the previous owner flashed the car or remapped it after the upgraded exhaust install.

So, anyway I just wanted to get some help and suggestions on who I should take my car to and get it tuned. By the way, I'm in Philly so anywhere close would be great.

Impreza WRX STi

And by the way I didn't post this to start a "I'm the BEST TUNER" or "THEIR THE BEST TUNER" argument. I just want your honest opinions. And maybe some examples of your experiences and results of tuning your car with your fav. tuner.

Again, I'm just a newbie guys and I'm just fishing around to get the best advice I can from the most skilled and experienced people that I can find.
Thanks Again for all the help!!!

Only true "professional" in my book would be Chris from XX-Tuning.

I have been to 5 different tuners in this area, he is the only one I would feel comfortable touching my car again.

Of course, this is my opinion, and my experience.

Dave Brown has tuned three of my family's subarus, soon to be four. I personally have run the usual vf39/ej205 combo and fpgreen/ej257 combo both tuned by dave...I wouldn't think of letting anyone else tune my car.

These are great references. I'm about to enter the Impreza scene shortly and this info would be priceless.

jermaine down at turbo xs tuned my car, and i would highly recommend him to anyone else. i have an fp green with an ewg, fmic, and a utec. the car made 342 whp and 331 tq out of my little 2.0. i had him tune it on the safe side since its my daily driver and i haven't had any problems. it's been about 2 years and 30k miles later and still runs great. that is what i call a good tune: safe, reliable and powerful.

Andy (Xotic Motorsports now at Verocious in Wilmington) has a very good reputation.
http://vertexnow.com/Welcome-Verocious-Motorsports

did you consider/try seaching Tri-State for threads w/ the word Tuner in the title?
http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/sear...rchid=10271121
this topic comes up now & again.

in any case, you need to work up a short list, visit some shops and TALK to these guys about your goals & their methods & philosophies.
get someone you are comfortable with and can talk to.

it is a relationship that relies on trust & communication.

Best tuners in the area I'm aware of are Andy from Verocious Motorsports & Hill @ Agile. Both have good reps.

I agree with this post 100%. Andy is the only person I WOULD TRUST to tune a car. But that is my opinion; as EKW says you should call or e-mail around and find the tuner which you trust and will meet your goals.

Another thing is distance.....i think a few of these tuning shops are at least 3-4 hours away from you.

+1 for Andy. I've never dealt with anyone else, but his understanding of my goals for my car are enough for me to not go anywhere else. I'm sure others are good as well, it's something you need to be comfortable with.

The general consenses on this board is Junior out of "The Shop" in CT. I have read nothing but great reviews about him. Your out of philly I am assuming you also might want to consider Sean Ivey in Hillside NJ ( www.iveytune.com ). He is like the go to tuner for evos but I am pretty sure he tunes subbies

+111111 for Dave Brown at MSPT. He is the only one that has ever touched my car and it now has 146,000 mi on it he has tuned it for every mod done . I'm sure there are lots of other tuners out there but I have not had any reason to go anywhere else except MSPT Dave is The Subaru Guru.
