Default NEW! Advan wheel, look closer

http://www.yokohamatire.jp/yrc/japan...9s2BeznEdseV8Z
look closer at the wheel, it may appear to be a five spoke, but it has a hollow core, therefore reducing weight. It comes in 5x100 with 48offset, They even left the center open so you can see the hollow spokes..MMmmmm, me wants

comes in silver, white and gold

that is the sand casting form of what is used to make the spokes hollow on the inside. it's a negative form. Notice the spokes on the 2nd pic?

I can confirm the strength, fit and finish of the Advan by Yokohoma line of wheels. Having previously owned 18" Advan Model 6 hollow spoke wheels on my 1997 Prelude. Very light for the size, and stunning to say the least for original design and fabrication techniques. I paid about $550.00 per wheel for my 6's about 5.5 years ago.

Cool...I've always like the original Advan TC's. I even tried to purchase a set, but was jerked around by a vendor over the deal.

These look nice. I just bought a cheap set of summer wheels, but maybe next year I'll look into these.

¥61000 = US$508.50

Those are some sweet wheels. I'd love to get my hands on a set of those, heh.

I'll make this double post into a new one!

After a few minutes of googling, I found these:

5x100 ET48 17x7.5 $610 -- http://www.machiii.net/machiii/html/.../AVS/TCII.html

HKS Altezza (IS300) with TCII's -- http://nmeconline.tripod.com/carreviews/hksaltezza.html

Enjoy.

Eh? How could this wheel being cast with hollow spokes be better than something forged solid?

Also, about wheel strenghts.. how could a cast wheel lip (the most frequently damaged portion of any wheel) be stronger than forged lip..?

What do you do when mud, dirt, or water finds its way inside those little holes?

Ya, but the dirt/mud/pebbles thing could be really annoying. I wonder if the production units have the spokes open like that on the inside.

Get wheels that are meant for Gravel rally because these wheels are R&D for Road Racing..

what if it rains, I'd assume those holes would fill up and you'd have an unbalenced tire real quick.
