you don't have a downpipe since you don't have a turbo.

.....it would be pointless to do anything more than get cat delete pipes for a new 2.5i.
do not even THINK that(without nitrous, anyway) you will get more than ~10hp more than stock outa a 2.5i without BUILDING the engine and spending $,$$$...not happenin....no |

thats bull, the 2.5 na motor can pull a decent amount of horsepower out of some mods, not the same ratio of power per dollar as a turbo car's mods, but for NA, its still power. An intake can give you some horses, but definately better throttle response and putting on header back exhaust with cat deletes can definately help get some power. I don't know about headers since I don't personally know anyone with them. Before I sold my 01 RS, with catback and short ram intake it made 134 to the wheels (with all cats) which is enought to not make it "pointless" seeing as how a stock wrx puts out around 170 horsepower to the wheels.... Plus maybe he just wants to mod it to mod it and he's not out to make tons of power, obviously if that were the case he wouldn't have purchased a 2.5i, but he can still have fun working on it nontheless. |
