I have a 2009 sedan and almost ripped the bumper of trying to unload the car from a trailer at night in the rain but no cracks. My buddy has a 2011 sedan and lightly scraped a parking spot concrete thing (I'm sure there's a technical term for it) and his bumper has a 2" crack in it now. Maybe it is something about the wide-body bumper?

Cracked my bumper just tapping a snow bank. Luckily the crack can't been seen easily. It's mostly on the underside, right in the middle.

I just went out and checked, no cracks, but the bumper lip is made of this hilariously paper thin plastic. Only a matter of time.

My crack was very low and through the edge. I fixed it today with a piece of ABS and some two part urethane glue. It looks pretty good but I think if my car wasn't Black it would still be noticeable.

I did something similar. Hit some poor creature that was fairly tall (came up to the bottom of my headlights, about) and cracked the bumper on the right side, lost the snap in pieces on side and right front, and the ... whatever it's called that lines the wheel well came undone from the fender.

Still need to get it fixed. I was told by my dealership that it was only cosmetic, so I haven't been worried about it. My car's black, so it's not horribly noticeable. Except for the missing snap in bits.

:P

I got the impression from reading the rest of the thread that the issue seems to be that the bumper breaks too easily from impacts that shouldn't have resulted in cracking.

In my case, I _know_ I hit something big(ish) going fast, so I wasn't majorly surprised at the damage, just a little disappointed. Certainly different from minor bang-ups from steel cars, though.

Although, now that I think about it, the accident that totaled my Corolla... the bumper bounced right back. No cracks, just a few dents. I think. Hrmph. I'll definitely take a cracked bumper and intact structural bits, though. My Corolla looked fine, even though it was leaking fluids when I drove it home from the accident.

I have a pretty large crack in my bumper that I've had for a while now. Going down the highway one day, probably at around 75 mph.. I hear this super loud noise and all of a sudden i look in my side view mirror because something caught my eye. I see something flying in the air, about 30 feet up. I pull over and notice my drivers side inner fender was gone. It tore my bumper on the way out, but my RA flaps stayed put and in tact.

Hit a deer in my 08, and made me go through a lil ditch, small crack, but just popped all the clips out of the bumper. Held up better than I thought. Deer was a baby

I also drive a black WRX, the damage can only be identified by me, and the plastic liner in the wheel well is also toast. Any idea on how much it is for a new liner? Looks like it's secured by plastic bolts.

On another note, there seems to be a plastic cut out that exploded off the passenger side front lip, I'm guessing it was there to help with installation of fog lights?

Yeah, I'm missing both those bits. I haven't priced any of that out separately. If I end up doing so, I'll try to remember to ping you. Ditto if you do, eh?

I don't know if it's the same thing as what we were talking about, but sounds like it could be. You might wanna mine that thread for info - http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=2108977

Same thing I did. Came from an F150 to my '12 WRX. I bought it on a friday, the following monday at work I pulled in too close. Barely tagged the curb and it put a small crack in it.

What's worse is my WIFE throwing up in my 3 day old 2012 STI. I was silently furious.

And i read this just as this broad spewed chunks through her hands as she was trying to stop the impossible, while in my passenger seat this morning on my 2011 sti. Bits and pieces from my steering wheel to the passenger window.

Bumper is in one piece though.

Got too close the sidewalk when parking head on. Fixed it later, pretty hard to tell it was ever cracked.
