My friends know I like coffee.

I got a lot of coffee for Christmas, some from a local roaster, some from the best coffee place that everyone goes to in Boulder, CO, and some from another local coffee shop.

I was quite happy Sunday morning when I realized I've now gone through enough of it to justify buying coffee from poison again.

A friend of mine from Miami came over and I offered him an espresso or cappuccino. He was disappointed that I didn't have a brick of Cafe Bustelo to make "real espresso"

I ground up some fresh beans I got from a local roaster and pulled a couple shots which shut him up pretty quick.

Would bold be too much to handle first time around?

Random thought: Do you have any stickers/decals yet? I'll throw a couple on my race car, not that I'll be running it any time soon.

No. I need to find someone to set it up, I have no clue how to do it, and my Web guy is no longer.

Cool, no problem. The only event I know 100% that I am running in my car is in October, and I'll order plenty more between now and then.

Stickers? All you need is a design and there are about a bajillion places to print em online. I bet you could even enlist ot's help to come up with something cool. . . and pay them . . in beans!

Finally was able to pour a passable heart for the wife's latte this morning. How appropriate that today is Valentine's Day . It was poured 3-4 minutes prior to the picture, so it lost some definition. She added the crappy filter for instagram.

Random q: what do I need to make the keurig reusable (red with metal filter) work without letting in coffee grounds.

Didn't respond to this earlier, but I have not used it, just heard good things.

How much coffee are you putting in? How fine are you grinding it? Have you played with either of these variables?

bizarre observation..... and I might have made this before... but coffee always seems to taste better when made for 2-3 (cups) instead of just 1.

I'd assume it's because the grounds as a whole sit in the hot water that much longer.

I was talking drip coffee machine. Which I have also found that has now become a little weaksauce with regards to temp. It will start off 140ish eventually making its way to 200 towards the end. So I went back to my old method of putting boiling water in the reservoir (prob not a good idea with all the plastics) and it came out a very good cup.

so now that my f'ing coffee maker is no longer convenient / as good as I want it I might go back to my pourover or filtered french press routine.

my aeropress is perfect for making ~18oz at a time if ya do it upside down method...never really tried to make more than that at one shot, but i guess you could....
