Default Where is the serial number on the STI 04 engine

hi guys,
i m looking to buy a used 04 STI and i m trying to check if the engine that is in the car is the same one that came originaly with it, because someone told me that the original engine blow and was exchanged thanks for the help

You have to remove the I/C to see it. It's in front of the starter.

ok thanks guys for the help ,so all i have to do is remove the 4 bolds that hold the I/C right ? can i do it without removing the water from the IC thanks for helping a newbie

Newbie indeed , there is no fluid (at least there shouldn't be!) in the intercooler. The stock intercooler is an air-to-air intercooler.
