09 WRX question - Logs inside
I posted awhile back when I first purchased my vehicle because I was feeling a slight hesitation in first gear around 2500-3000 RPMs under normal driving conditions (ie. Not WOT). It felt as though the engine would just shut off for a split second. I was informed by the powers that be (Unabomber), that it had something to do with the Open Loop/Close Loop programming implemented in all 2006 vehicles and onward (minus one vehicle of the manufacturers choosing for each model year that obviously being the STI). It has something to do with emissions I believe. Anyways, I was wondering if it is possible to see what is going on from the logs below. I was hoping someone with more knowledge could decipher this log. I was also wondering why the fuel injectors basically cut out at around 4.5 seconds into the log. That was where I shifted, but I thought the injectors just dropped to 1 or 2 percent when shifting like they do under idle. My only guess when it comes to the hesitation is the 0 for Fuel Trim (Short) at 2.25 seconds. I dont understand what the difference is between Fuel Trim Short and Fuel Trim Long; if someone wanted to explain that, I would greatly appreciate it. If not, there is always the search button... Oh, and the vehicle has is running the stock map, no other mods. Just an AP v2 married to it. Thanks.

I am asking the questions just to gain some knowledge. I understand that this is normal albeit obnoxious. I will post back after flashing to Stage 1 and let everyone know how the Cobb Stage 1 map smooths this OL/CL transition.
Shet - I just realized I posted in the 2.5L thread, please move to Engine Management section please. Last edited by Suby Noob; 07-12-2009 at 06:09 PM. |

I am not following you. Are you talking about a PID for like programming? The OBDII interface that I have is the Cobb AccessPort v2. I think that is what you are asking.
