Perrin Subframe Lockdown System (SLS) on 2010 WRX Sedan
I'm sure there is a similar post around here, but I figured I would add this since I couldn't find one to merge/comment on.
Install went exactly as described in the instructions and on the Internet. Loosen the 4 19mm (not 17mm) bolts as the instructions say, remove 14mm bolts, remove front 19mm bolts and install front bushings and bolts, install remove rear 19mm bolts and install back bushings and bolts, torque to specifications. Factory catback was not in the way, extensions required to reach everything, but no issues at all. I am a stickler for detail and made sure the rounded end of each of the bushings fit into the factory bushings, and the flat side against the metal washers. Actual review: NVH - Minor increase. I probably won't notice after a few days of driving. Take off and driveline slack - Takeoff seems a hair snappier. The mod appears to have made driveline slack/lash from factory transmission/engine mounts more apparent. 1st-2nd shift - Significant decrease in 1st to 2nd thunk, but not completely gone when you hit it. But it also doesn't sound like your rear-end went supersonic anymore. Once I get this thing on I95 tomorrow I may add some additional details and how I feel about how worthwhile the mod is. ________ Head shop

http://www.perrinperformance.com/pro...ry=68&model=23 I have to add; packaging is top notch...they seem like a solid business. They even included a pair of Perrin stickers for the car. ________ BAG SYSTEM HERBAL VAPORIZER Last edited by Blue_Rex; 08-23-2011 at 04:36 PM. |

Here is some followup info over 100 miles later; still feels a bit snappier and tighter. NVH is similar to what you would feel if you over inflated your tires a little. You hear more on bumps on the road, but overall nothing to complain about. A good mod for the money.
