Default 18" wheels in Massachusetts

Hey Everyone!
Just looking to get some opinions and advice on 18" wheels ( I want the Prodrive P1's) and driving them in MA. I love the way the 18"s look and would prefer to have them and I won't be having the $$ to buy a new set every couple of years so whatever I get, I want them to last for a long time. And since the roads SUCK in this state, I am pretty nervous. Anyone driving them in MA now? If so, how banged up are they? I know it really comes down to how you drive, but I just need some reassurance.
Thanks for any help you can give.

Personally, Id rather put a cigarette out in my eye than ride on 18's in Boston. Between potholes, cabbies, & parallel parking they're bound to get ruined.

i had 18" on mine last summer, it was fine, if you don't know how to parallel park then it could get ugly, just learn before. The pot holes issue just asks a few weaving around and a bit of attention but other than that it easy to avoid the bad area( ie the city).
they got stolen....... end of story.
