2008 2.5i repairs log
As my 2008 crossed the 200 000 km (125 k miles) mark, I looked through all my repairs bills and figured I'd list what has been done to the car so far, just as a baseline for others. I've excluded maintenance items and brakes.
To give it some context, the daily commute to work is on a freeway; with a day or two of lapping every summer... and given the local climate, it suffers from 5 months of winter. Here's the list: 36k km / 22k miles: variable valve lift left switch, front left wheel bearing 68k km / 42k miles: Front stabilizer bar end links and bushings 89k km / 55k miles: A/C evaporator o-ring 93k km / 58k miles: transmission shifter linkage joint 101k km / 63k miles: catalyctic converter (warranty following a CEL) 109k km / 68k miles: front control arm bushings 146k km / 91k miles: front right wheel bearing 149k km / 93k miles: front left ball joint 153k km / 95k miles: variable vable lift right switch, gas door repair 160k km / 99k miles: rear knuckle bushings 179k km / 111k miles: front left and rear left wheel bearings 188k km / 117k miles: rear right wheel bearing 195k km / 121k miles: pilot and throw-out bearing + clutch 220k km / 137k miles: Valve cover gaskets / rear control arm bushings. Head gaskets, external weeping noticed (left as is) So far, quite happy with the car. I'll probably jinx it all just by mentioningg it, but I'm still running on OEM struts and springs, alternator, starter, radiator and A/C. (though for the latter, every 2 years I have a maintenance done on it - apparently it really extends its lifetime)

Thanks for the info. I've had mine from 48k not at 78K.
Only thing I've done is maintenance- oil change, spark plugs and wires, accessory belt, new pads and slotted rotors all around. i have not had to replace any bearings or bushings thank god. Money was spent on upgrades instead. What octane fuel are you using? I do 80% highway driving though... in Florida. |
