Default Best NEW car for the 14.5K range?

I'm looking for the best car for the upwards of 14,500 range. Would not like to go past that.. Looking for good gas mileage, but a car that also looks stylish for that money. Automatic preferred.. As this will be my new daily driver.

I've been having my eye on the Scion xB, fully loaded for the low 14ks... Since they come in 1 single trim, the factory body kit looks nice. I only think the tiny wheels look goofy on the car.

Am I missing any shiners out there?

Jay

Lol.. I was looking at the Fit.. kind of ugly in stock form. But has potential to look good with a few minor mods (Drop and wheels).

The lowest of low model Corollas can probably be talked down to the 14s.. but it looks like crap, non-painted trim for the lose.

Youre pretty much right, although youre wrong if were quoting numbers IRS style.

Civic $14,760.00 + 550.00 dest. fee=

$15,310

Corolla CE $14,105 + $580 dest. fee=

$14,695

Now i am admittedly shocked theyre still that cheap, but can you actually find a stripper on a dealer lot?

The Corolla CE doesnt have any power options. The dealer I went to had more CEs than S's (?). Also I was leaning towards the xB but then I test drove one. Its hard to describe, but have you driven one? You really are in a box. Its comfortable, just tons of space all around you. I couldnt touch the top of the windshield when I reached out. It drove alrite, just enough power. I fell in love with the Fit and found the one I wanted 2 days later. Just drive everything and see what you like.

There's going to be the most aftermarket for the Fit i'm sure.. but there's quite a bit for the Scions.. I think i'll be most happy with something I know I can mod (just a lil!).. Whichever I get, i'm going to atleast lower it and put wheels on it.

Rabbit is too borderline expensive.. it's nice and all, though. Too big of an engine for what I want a daily driver for.. Need better gas mileage. I'll just go test driving. Blah.
