Most of them are from BRZ owners, if I recall correctly there was a problem with the GPS antenna location and it would drop constantly. There was a TSB for it on the BRZ's and they changed the antenna position and there was a firmware update as well.

I have a BRZ unit in my 2013 WRX and I havent had any issues with it. I'm using a forester antenna and I have yet to hook up VSS.

Mine is a BRZ also. When I installed it in my Crosstrek and put in a new Nav card i think updated. Maps work great. Double sided taped the GPS antenna to the underside of the dash. Instant GPS connect and accurate location.

Just spoke with Brian at AutoHarnessHouse.com. He will soon be releasing a new transplant harness with no soldered wires and new connections. It will all be custom wired connections with no splicing.

The other vendor here commented that the connection used by autoharnesshouse were inferior to his. The updated one will use same type of connection. I encourage the other vendor to post a cleaner finished product without splices. He sells pieces that th end user has to put together.

If anyone subscribed to this thread is interested, I am upgrading the OEM navigation on my 2012 WRX and will likely be listing the old nav, which is mint. The part number is 86271FJ600. Please PM me if interested.

Sorry email Brian at this address: [email protected]
Tell him I sent you. He is making a version 2 of the harness that will look even cleaner.

Stick with the guy I recommended. I haven't seen one complaint about Brian not responding.

Keep in mind, Brian is a young college student with finals coming up and this is his second job buildings his fairly new business.

Nice!! Doesn't get much cleaner than that. I should be getting harness from Brian tomorrow for another install. Love how easy his harness makes the install. Completely plug and play.

Where do I place GPS antenna? Will any place behind HU do ? Or do I have to route it somewhere else?

On top of the HU will work, but it's not really optimal due to a lot of junk being above it. One of the best places inside the car is the OEM location, ontop of the gauge cluster (but still under the dash). Best place outside car (but visible) is next to the roof antenna. Best place outside and not viable in inside the rear spoiler.

Just recieved a new and improved radio transplant harness from Brian at autoharnesshouse.com. It was custom made and developed in house to keep costs down. No off the shelve harnesses used with splices or crimps.

This is the second order I have placed with Brian. I have nothing but good things to say about his customer service and products.

Here is a picture of the full transplant (non-nav to nav) kit hooked up and ready to go in. This adds HD radio, Sat radio, usb and retains all oem function.

Will update with install pictures.

I used harness from autoharnesshouse to install OEM nav in my Limited Impreza today. 100% plug and play. To guys with '12+ Limiteds its super easy install. I initially took out glove compartment as I read that I need to unhook linkage on both sides. Turns out I only needed to pop open the plastic around head unit. Be very careful when switching brackets from one unit to another. I stripped one screw and had to drill it out.

Disaster. I tried to use Subaru Toolbox software to install a patch on my SD card with maps. It corrupted my SD card and now maps won't load. Any ideas how to fix it? I'm still at work not sure if dealership will be open when I leave work.

Update: Brian at autoharnesshouse.com made the new harness with a slight mod to clean up the mic sound quality. I no longer have to turn the mic volume all the way down to make it usable.
