Lightbulb So, is it safe to go to summer wheels yet?

The internet weather says upper 40's, 50's, and 60's - does anyone know anything I don't? Like, predictions of any more freakish snow showers right after a 60 degree day?

I can't take it much longer.

^--- what he said Minus the whole markings deal. They didn't say anything to me about markings. Hope that doesn't happen. Good thing the repair is actually on the inside of the wheel and not the outside lip.

I put mine on before the Mach V meet, was nice driving around in that weather we had a few weeks ago, like mid 60's. Sure now its a little cold, but just don't push it to hard with cold tires and you will be fine. I think this is the last of the cold, shouldn't get much worse then it is now, only warmer. By mid next week its supposed to be in the 60's again. So this weekend might be a good time to switch them out if you haven't already.

Endlesshine, did u get yelled at also by the older asian lady? Because i asked her if there was any possible way the rim could be fixed in a week because my spring break ends and i have to go back to school. When she heard that she like exploded at me muttering a lot of different words, some in english and others in i dun even know?? all i got out of it was IRAQ!!! I had to calm her down and tell her take as long as they needed to and then she came at me with "the machines gonna leave marks on your lip" ...

i had to think about whether it was worth it or not .. but after all the good reviews from everyone on here, and the hour n a half drive out there i was like might as well just leave it...

im still a little sketchy about that place though

Iraq!?!?!?

No, nothing like that. No old Asian lady either, thank goodness from the sounds of it! The guy was nice.. and I looked around the shop and they had piles and piles of rims sitting around waiting to be repaired. He told me not to call back earlier than 2 weeks but it would most likely be around 3 weeks before the rim is done. Good luck

Gods - I'm really really surprised they said there would be marks on the wheel. What kind of wheels and tires are involved? Are they 18's? Lower profile tires are always harder to mount...

They completely redid my wheels, and mounted RE040's on em afterwards. Apparently the Potenza series of tires is harder to mount without scratches because of the way it's designed. But they (YOWS) still did it without problems. Shrug.

Please let me know how your wheel is when you get it back? Want to know for future references. Thanks.

I'd almost put mine back on too but thank god I got lazy..

I've been running my summer wheels and tires all winter. Made for a couple of interesting trips to work. I only switched to the rally wheels(read monster mudders) a couple of times.

Edit: Actually, I'd be worried more about the pot holes than the weather.

I hate winter rims.... I think i'm going to move somewhere where it doesn't snow.

Two of my buddy's put theirs on like 2 weeks ago. Soo I'd say its time to sport the summer rims again.

R compounds on the S and replacing my S03s with Toyo T1-S on the WRX (new wheels too). The way I look at it: if it snows again, I stay home till it melts.

My rims are 18' Volk GT-P's thats part of the reason why it would kill me if they came back all fuged up.

Hey guys,
I'm sure I met a couple of you at the Mach V meet, anyway I work at Roadblock with Al and we've sent a couple wheels up to Wheel Worx. I've seen them do great work on the wheels that we've sent to them but they are in the middle of nowhere. Never really had a problem with marking up any lips, but I guess it all depends on how bad the damage is to the wheel.

How much is it snowing down there? It's been going for almost an hour here and is just now laying in the grass. I'd say they are snow showers too, just not cold enough to build up.

Yeah, it's not that bad. I just fear that VA will put salt on the roads or something. They underreact to the blizzards and spaz all the other times.
