Default Sales numbers by color?

It's late....and my eyes hurt from trying to search.....and i thought i had more beer in my fridge but i don't.....

Does anyone know where I can find a listing of the 2002 and 2003 sales of wrx's by color?

I was reading a thread that the sonic yellow was one out of 400? is that correct?

I was just wondering how many 02 mbp wrx's were sold/made.....

Default Color?

In relation to the topic, does anyone know how many cars were built in 03 or 04 according to color? IE: how many blue, white, silver, red, black ones were built?
THANKS for any help!

Default help

Someone has to know, I'm about to call the manufacturer .. I have a pretty kinky bet going on with a friend. She says more blue ones were made than any other color, which I think is wrong. If she is wrong there is a nice gift in it for me

I don't know how many sonic yellows were sold but I did read on a dealers website (that seemed pretty knowledgeable) that only 1500 were produced.

I've never seen an 'official' sales breakdown by color. Even the WRX vs. RS sales aren't separated in the general reports. Not saying it doesn't exist...just that it may not make its way outside of corporate.

Given that Rally Blue has the ties to Subaru's WRC car, I'd be highly suprised if any of the other colors sold in higher quantities. FWIW, across all manufacturers ,silver is far and away the most popular color choice.

Cheers,

I read on one of those Impreza magazines that Aspen White is the most popular color in Japan on Impreza, Silver all the way down the list... I think WRB is 2nd and MBP is 3rd or something. Gotta flip every page to find it again. DUnno about US sales thou :P

The silver remark was in Wall Street journal, er, something like that. Read it a few months ago. It was talking about all cars sold in the US. Not sure where they got their figures or even if Subarus were counted (being such a small cut of the market and all...)

If you played your cards right, there'd be a nice gift for both of you if she was right

I have previously talked to Subaru via email about production #s on both the MY04 OBS and MY99 Impreza L Coupes. They explained to me that they can only break down the #s by model type and transmission type, not by colors. Limited production colors may be another story. You can email them from subaru.com and they WILL respond.

I guess this explains why my previous searching never turned up anything. I spent quite a while searching NASIOC and other sources and found absolutely nothing.

I've also seen that the 1500 number breaks down farther to 750 sedans and 750 wagons.

Unfortunately for you I do believe that blue is the highest produced color. Go to the dealership and take a look around at the WRX's being sold. Most are blue. From my experience it seems to go blue, silver, black, white, red, and lastly yellow in order of quantity produced.

So do tell, what does she win?

I think 1500 was for the 2002 Yellow. As far as our dealer said they only made 450 Sonic Yellow ones. We have one by the way. If anybody is interested in purchasing it, PM me.

I found two separate pages indicating 1500 sonic yellows.

Why would you want to sell yours? Yellow is the best color ever.

That's correct.

Those are the only real numbers Subaru ever released. Considering the number of '02 yellow WRX wrecks, there are probably only about 400 of them left now.

Just looking for WRX Sedan models. I would think that if they made an equal amount of blue, silver, black and red ones that the blue's would have a higher sales rate (I've seen a *****load of blue ones around here).
