Default 2.5 turbo kit engine management

to anyone who has bought either a ludespeed kit or a forced air kit, they claim it comes with everything to turbocharge the car, including proper engine management. has this been true or has the managment they provide left something to be desired? i have heard there is no such thing as too much engine management, i would love to know what everyone thinks, more specifically about the FAT kit people cause that is the way i am leaning but any info would be great, i obviously want to tune my car, i am wondering if what they provide is enough to properly tune but more importantanly keep my engine from being destroyed. cause i want to get the FAT stage 3 kit but i dont exactly want to spend 4300 then drop a another couple thousand for more management. haha, ok, bottom line, is the management provided adequate or not, thanks. one more question, on all of the kit installs do you have to lift the engine? thanks
Ben

the ludespeed stage 3 comes with a Link Plus fully programmable replacement ECU..... doesn't get much more complete than that.

I now installed 4 Ludespeed Kits with the full engine management setup. The turbo setup comes with everything you will need, including all the little parts you need to install the kit without having to go to the store for anything else.

The engine management consists of a plug in harness for the Link Plus (full replacement ECU), which is a great system. I am bias but hey it works well and lot of people will agree with me.

For the price you will not get a better deal. Even if you were to go out and source all the parts yourself, the time, money, and hassles you will encounter will cost you more then the Ludespeed Stage 3 kit.

I have run up to 16 PSI for daily driving on the Ludespeed kit on 91 octane and it runs fine with the engine management. Though I am a tuner for Link so that helps a little. As for having to much engine management, I beg to differ, you CAN have to much engine management, especially for people who don't really understand tuning. When that happens people don't know what they are doing, and things go BOOM.

In the end the Link Plus is pretty easy to tune compared to some units. Thought there might units out there that are a breeze.

The hardest part of the Ludespeed install I woudl say is the oil pan as you will need to rais the engine some how. If you have a lift it is pretty easy, but most poeple don't have that in thier garage.

Besides that the rest just bolts right on. Takes me about one day to install and tune everything now.

The oil pan is by far the hardest part of the kits to install. Engine management is cake if you know what you're doing, however the Link leaves something to be desired for us people used to "real world" terms. TEC-II does as well, for that matter... tuning by VE is nothing short of a complete PITA.

Then again, once you get used to every system, it is simple to use. It's like learning to speak another language... or more appropriately, like learning the difference between building things with Lego's or Erector set pieces. They both can build complex things, the fundamentals are the same, just the methods are different.

How do the ludespeed up and down pipes fit on a 98? I have a FAT kit and the up and down pipes fit like crap causing all sorts of problems. Im thinking of replacing them but I dont know with what?
