Default Flashing yellow lanes are for EZPass only!

the signs start a good two miles from the tollbooth and are repeated every half mile and they're huge.

the sign above the tollboth says EZPASS ONLY and has a blinking yellow light.

so why, lady from North Carolina, did you pull into the EZPASS lane and then, when no one was there to take your ticket and toll, put the car in park and walk through ANOTHER EZPass lane to a toll collector?

oh, and thanks for the look of death when i gave you a little toot-toot with the mighty Subaru horn of doom.

does this crap happen on other EZPass roads, or just the NJ Turnpike?

Unless they start divvying up the lanes about five miles back and paint huge EZ-PASS ONLY signs onto the pavement every 10 feet, I've noticed many people will still scramble during the last 50 yards to get into the proper lanes.

hey man, i didn't build the things.

as the saying goes, "it's free to get into New Jersey, but you got to pay to leave."

and maybe you guys should consider toll roads. shift the revenue towards the school systems so that dipthongs like the lady i encountered this morning can finally learn to read.

But here in MA you get one "get out of jail free" card. AKA I was told by the people that give out the passes that if you go through the fast lane and you do not have fast lane you will get a warning. It's the 2nd time you do it that you will be ticketed...

and they are serious as a heart attack about collecting your 50 cents. years ago i went down there to get wasted and lose some dosh, and we left the casinos without a single penny. not even under the carpets in the car. i had to fill out a 2 page IOU form and the on-site notary stamped it before they let us through. what a buzz kill.

Toll roads have to be the least efficient way of collecting taxes any government has come up with.

I'm trying to figure out why she cared...It's not like they go after you for tolls do they? I thought it was just enforced when you try to renew your plates.

no, they go after you. if they miss your tires with throwing stars and .45 rounds, they send a bill for the toll with hefty fines and processing fees. there are cameras in every ez lane.

But what happens if you don't pay the bill? Do they issue a bench warrant for your arrest?

You get a bill in the mail.. On the ticket they have a picture of your car... If you don't pay they will arrest you just like a speeding ticket.

That's no good. I was under the impression it was more like a parking ticket than a moving violation.

Although I had a relative who was visiting Chicago from Washington, and got a ticket for an accident that was his fault. The officer suggested that he not pay the ticket, as nothing "bad" would happen unless he returned to Illinois.

oh jeez, this can't happen enough right ?

i can't tell you how many times some idiot will pull a sharp right or left out of one toll booth lane, maybe 2 ft from the toll booth b/c its the wrong one.

people are just plain stupid and ignorant. the signs are posted, the lights flash, the lanes are painted ! and still there's morons that can't handle it.

doesn't need a horn when you have a mouth like mine

it's a ~$25 ticket. no big deal. small price to pay for stupidity, and far better than being rear-ended because you stopped where no one is suppposed to stop.

people who don't understand Sleazy-Pass bother me.

EZPass: if you have to ask, you don't have it.

I love it when the idiots here come to a complete stop instead of rolling thru at the posted 15mph speed limit. That makes me want to get out and rub their faces in the speed limit sign so they get a really good look at it and will be sure to remember for the next time.

See, the problem here is that the general population is incredibly stupid. If that wasn't the case, we'd have nothing to talk about on the boards. So I guess it's a bonus in a way.
