Default Which wheel design is better for snow driving?

Hi!

I wanted to discuss about wheel designs and its effects on snow driving.

Every winter when the snow starts to fall gracefully, I rush to the WRX and go for a drive on the mountains before the snowplough takes all the fun away.

After some slides, the wheels get full of snow inside and block the brakes.

So I was wondering: Is it better in this situation to have more closed wheels like the OZ "rally racing"? Or will it block even more the snow than on a more open wheel?
Will the more open wheel design allow for better snow expulsion?

What is your experience in this situation?

Closed wheel will help to prevent snow gathering inside the wheel but once it's get in, you have hard time to clean it.

I prefer more open wheel. I always have a wood stick to remove packed snow.

I agree with you both.
A more closed design might be a pita to push the snow out.

BHOD you made me realise that I have to keep some kind of stick in the car to kick the snow out.
