The price is the best so far I have seen and I don't want to spend $140 on rally's. Any feed back would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

RE: Flapatax

He (on the forum as Pumpkyn) is working out where holes need to be drilled to work with the aero kit on some sports, but the urethane flaps will be identical, just with the holes in a different location.

He listed these on ebay previously as compatible with 2012 Impreza, so I ordered a set.

Then he contacted me to say that it was an error, only because he had not verified the location for the mounting holes on all of the 2012's.

He is sending them to me marked but not drilled, I am going to drill them to fit my car how I want them to fit.

Within a week or so he will probably have the hole locations nailed down and again list them on ebay as compatible with the 2012 Impreza.

If you are not opposed to drilling the flap yourself, you can go ahead and order them.

Unfortunately I found 2 very small chips in the paint with oxidation beneath also. I had to clean up the areas and then used touch up paint to seal it up. Subaru really spread the paint really thin on these cars....uuuggghhh

I have a pretty big chip on the nose of my hood as well, it went straight down to the bare metal. It didn't seem to be oxidized yet so I put on some self etching primer and some touch up paint. Car is only 7 months old :/

I discovered a rust spot on the corner of my hood when I first got my car. Pointed it out to the dealer right away and they fixed it under warranty with no issues.

I got touch up paint from my dealership for about $11-something. They had to order it and it arrived 2 days later.

Took my car through Rocky mountain national park today, can definitely feel the lack of power as I was in 2nd or 3rd gear a lot. Didn't even lug in the higher gear, just didn't do anything, lol

I know how ya feel. Too bad Subaru didn't make an even smaller version of the FB engine with a turbo for the Impreza models like there're doing for the '14 Forester.

I asked about these mudflaps for a 2012 Impreza Sports as well; it sounds like they should be available shortly...

"I have a couple testers to verify that everything is good to go and I will be throwing the option up on the website. Expect them to be available next weekend. Thank you."

Interesting. I spent the last 3 days NY's Adirondack mountains, carrying four adults and their luggage, with much of it in a car-top carrier. Granted, my mountains are not the same as your mountains in Rocky Mtn National Park (I've been there; it's beautiful), but still I was climbing some serious grades, and was never lacking power.

Oh wait, I just re-read your post. I guess I wasn't lacking power because I was willing to downshift into 2nd or 3rd gears without feeling disappointed about it. That's what those gears are there for, right?

Anyway, the car never disappointed me, on the steep hills, in the deep snow, no matter what I threw at it.

It was just a little disappointing that 3rd couldn't handle everything

I'd tell you to go buy a diesel, but at the moment that would mean buying a VW TDI, and I just can't bring myself to make that recommendation.

I know, the hills Iwas climbing weren't that steep but they went on for miles. But in comparison my motorcycle would have probably been in the same gears the whole time too. At 8000ft n/a engines really don't make much power unless they are designed for those altitudes like some of the mountain snowmobiles I have ridden

So when I picked up my '13 on Friday, the dealer could only find one fob/key and had me sign an IOU for the second fob/key and the valet key, I'm also missing the little metal tag with the code to make new keys. They said they'd probably find them on Saturday while shuffling the cars around the lot for the snow, or if they did not, they'd order new keys on Monday. They didn't call yesterday with any news, so if they have to make new keys how much of a pain is this going to be? Are they able to just copy my key and program the set + computer at the dealer while I wait, or are they going to need to dig around in the dash (change the ICM?) or hold the car for a longer period?

I'm guessing they will turn up. If not, I doubt you would need to drop off your car to get replacements, unless they can't cut keys there. I suppose there is always an if. If there has to be more than one key to be able to program additional keys. Gladly, that would their problem, not yours. Chances are, they would give you a loner if they need the car for any appreciable amount of time.

Dumb question, have you looked in all the storage bins just in case someone put them in the car at some point? Down along the console between the seats?

They're definitely not in the car, I explored every nook and cranny. The funny thing is I used the ring with the fob/key and valet key when I test drove the car two weeks ago after having to wait a day because they could not find either the single fob/key or the ring the day before when I stopped in to drive it unannounced.

With how often they've lost the keys, I'm glad I didn't have them evaluate a trade or I might still be there.

I don't think they will need your existing key or your car to make new keys for you. I'm almost certain that Subaru has a database for keeping track of what key code shipped with each VIN. The dealership will be able to look up this data and make a key for you, then will have the key waiting for you when you come to get it.

They are probably in some salesmans desk who was not there the day you picked up the car then.
