That's a great question. This is the first time we have used these "burnt" treated tips. So I really don't have any long term testing done just yet. But I can't imagine it being much different than say Invidia...

The inside of those tips will be black about two seconds after driving. DI is notorious for blackened tips. Of course, you could just constantly clean them.

Yeah. I don't even bother with the inside tips. Just the outside

It might have something to do with the fact that GTI guys tend to like thinking of themselves as more "adult" and "grown-up" with their "refined" hot-hatch, lol.

its not exactly a large task to clean it though, a quick wipe and its done. especially if it goes with the wheels, ill wipe it every day if i have to. the stock exhaust has a similar design to that, it has that little shiny ring in there, not gold ofc. it takes a few weeks for it to get really dirty from what ive noticed.

I owned a MK7 for 2 years (2014 launch model) had so many issues it made me hate the car.

Yeah the elitism is real, yeah VW made an engine that makes 300whp with just a flash but when stuff goes sideways your only option is to pay APR 10-15k to build you an engine.

My buddy has a 650whp 2016 Golf R he has driven maybe two weeks before its eaten now 2 DSG transmissions.

Installed the kit and tune two days ago on my 2017 and got a check engine pop up light last night while accelerating. Gonna see what the code is for in a few hours, but anyone else get a CEL after installing this kit so soon?

Check your wiring on the rear O2 sensor after the install. Could be that a wire got pinched or cut or the harness is not fully plugged in.

Are you running an o2 spacer, or defouler in the J-pipe by any chance?

I was using the rear o2 sensor spacer that was in the kit (don't know if you're still providing the part) when the p0137 or whatever code came on. Upon removing it I got the p0420 code though and you sent me the file with that one removed and all was good after that.

Ian,

What is the current file version for the OTS tunes? A few people are having issue with knock on the "V7" version and the files look to be a bit lean. It looks like there was a change to fueling.

Recent example from MAP OTS Stage 1 91 v7 on a stock car:

https://datazap.me/u/sjxie1990/3-20?...zoom=2504-3100

My personal log with a cosworth drop-in and a catback, MAP OTS Stage 1 91 v5 beta:

https://datazap.me/u/gn4rwhals/maper...24&zoom=45-577

Can you shed some light on this?

Have there been any changes or revisions to the Stage 2 tunes?

We are currently on "V7" of all WRX tunes currently. Do you know which one you are running?

The 2018s have an extra crash bar right where most aftermarket intakes sit for 2015-2017s. Fitment on a '16 doesn't guarantee fitment on an '18 that's why he's asking.

Hey all. Questions. I got my stage 2 kit and also got an email saying that some items ship at different times due to different warehouse stocks. Has anyone received a second email with another tracking number for what was missing in the original box?

Does the factory turbo gasket get used?
Also read somewhere that it comes with grimspeed hardware for the j pipe. Did anyone get it separate from the j pipe?
Are the factory studs and nuts ok to reuse?
Where does one get the stage 2 tune from? Is it preloaded or is that something that gets emailed?
I received 2 2 bolt exhaust gaskets but only see one spot to are that would need them. Am I missed something?

Its the weekend or I would have called MAP but I know they don't answer on the weekend lol. Don't blame them.

Thanks everyone for your time.
