Default does utec block check engine lights

well i have no cats and now in ny they are doing obd2 inspection tests so i heard that a utec can turn off cel completly is this true so i can pass inspection

the UTEC can disable your check engine light, but the ECU will still store the code indicating the problem. this means that you will fail even though your CEL is disabled.

You probably wouldn't pass since you're catless anyways. You live in ny though. I bet you can find a place that will let your car pass emissions for the right price. Or you could put the car back to stock for the test. I lived in ny when I had my first car, and that thing passed so many emissions test that it shouldn't have.....

what he said. Also, it wont tell u when you knock either, if I remember correctly. Believe it said that in the manual.

The CEL will still flash for knock when you have it disabled in the Utec.

yea in ny now if u have any check enguine lights u fail that suxs anyway around the check engine lights the place i get it done doesnt look under my car but still they have to plug it in to the obd2 which will no if i have cel and ill fail any way to stop these lights
