![]() in port 86257VA130 power is 6 pin
and in the white plug in 5 pin. Therefore, in the white plug with the bundle, you need to change pin 5 (cable) to pin 6 photos on the link -> https://drive.google.com/drive/folde...5Q?usp=sharing Last edited by lukikosa; 02-22-2022 at 03:56 AM. |

For what it's worth in my 2016 US WRX I did NOT have to swap around any USB Pins. I just put in the 2.1A USB module and it all worked with the 2019 Radio. |

As for the amplifier, it seems to me that it can be connected to this radio, no matter what. Will it be with wrx, forestera, ascenta, crosstrek, everyone should work. The question of hooking up. Unless speakers of different power are installed. There is no subbuffer in the trunk in the forester IV. and this amplifier only differs in this loudspeaker. And you know colleagues where I can find a black plug for the amplifier from wrx. There is but only white ->https://pl.aliexpress.com/item/10050...c00p6JdGR&mp=1 black is a little different. It has a different cutout spacing for these guides. Last edited by lukikosa; 02-23-2022 at 02:35 AM. |

![]() Has anyone had any luck with swapping steering wheel control from a 2020 WRX to a 2013 Impreza? I can not get cruise or radio controls working. I have a 2021 base model radio working fine. It worked with the old switches (albeit not mapped right).
Everything wired up seemingly fine. Since I don't have the lower 3 buttons for the dash screen, I cut those connectors but left the red connected like how it was. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. |

![]() I have an update kinda;
I got a sj131 usb and it now recognizes something plugged in (phone charges and aux works) but AA and ACP don’t pop up on the apps screen with STARLINK and aha. Radio and phone (11 pro max) are up to date, software wise. |

![]() Ok so if I have a 2016 base without the amp or anything special I can swap in a 2020 radio with the phone button and all I’ll need is new steering wheel controls, usb and a door trigger wire to work? Thanks in advance

I changed my Forester xt 2018 to radio from wrx 2019 + amplifier. In addition, I checked and the radio also works on the amplifier from the forester V and mpreza Sport . I am even working with the beam adapter. The 24 pin plug is the same. You only need to change 2 pins in places. In addition, I managed to buy an outback housing that fits the amplifier from a Subaru Impreza Sport . The outback housing is perfect and has the same spacing as the forester IV. I cannot insert a photo, so it gives a link to the google drive: https://drive.google.com/drive/folde...0v?usp=sharing |

![]() Ok so I just swapped a “phone button” radio from a 2020 wrx into my 2016 wrx. My car did not come with the HK so no amp, not nav.
The unit powers on and looks so much better than my old radio. Here is where I’m at now: Works: Bluetooth to my phone Steering wheel controls (of course not mapped correctly) Doesn’t work: USB for CarPlay (I have the non 2.1 but I thought it works at least read/recognize. I may need to get an official cable also) Reverse camera doesn’t come on at all. I haven’t replaced it, but my understanding was it would work just without lines. Any help would be appreciated as I got it mainly for the CarPlay and I’d like for my rear camera to work. Thanks in advance |

Does the rear camera work with your old radio still? Does the radio screen go black when in reverse or does it not act like it detects the reverse signal at all? It's just 4 straight wires from radio to camera so there isn't much that could go wrong. |

Ok I ordered the USB and camera so I can change them. The camera works with my old head unit perfectly. When I put the car in reverse with the 2020 it does nothing. Screen doesn’t change. |

![]() I have a MY18 Sti with the head unit 86201VA830
I installed a WRX MY20 head unit with apple/android car The part number is 86431VA660. It is plug and play. I had to update to the USB 2.1 Amp plug. I had the 2019 and 2020 USB plug. At the end decided to use the 2019 unid. The camera works I forgot to install the blue cable..... I have the pig tail what I need is a cable long enough. I have an usb 2020 unit and the radio pigtails, except the one with the blue cable, if someone is interested Last edited by S2000_Europe; 04-02-2022 at 07:07 PM. |

![]() Today I did more testing
when turning the Volume knob, the sound level moves like crazy up 12 the down to 3 up to 36. Wheel control: up/down/left/right pressing have the same result: "rewind" the current song Mute button in the middle: change of source (i.e Radio or aux) Wheel control is understandable, but the volume level jumping up and down is weird, maybe the radio has speed control setting |

Ok the volume knob started to do crazy things again, so using my 20 years of experience in technology I found a solution: I reseted the unit and now works flawlessly. On a side note, I have to swap brackets, the 2020 holes don't fit in a 2018 subaru unless you bend the top ones and I do not like to do it If you attach the radio with only two holes, the top ones, when you are driving on bad roads you will hear a squeaky noise |
