Question 2.5RS sold at Thousand Oaks Subaru Dealer

Hi

I bought a MY98 blue 2.5RS from the Thousand Oaks Subaru dealer. The car previous owner was a famous surfer dude that directed 'The endless summer' movie in the sixties, living up the coast north of Malibu. He bought a WRX.
Are you a member of this forum ? Or does anybody know who I am talking about ??
I would like to ask some information about the car as the dealer was pretty clueless about any history (mods or servicing).

Thanks
Max

If the car was serviced at the dealer, they should have computer records. A simple run of the VIN number should tell you that much. I agree TO Subaru isn't very helpful. Luckily a new Subaru dealer just opened up in Ventura. 3 blocks from my house!

The guy who did the endless summer is Bruce Brown. Classic movie.

The new Ventura dealer is part of Barber Ford. The address is somewhere on Tompson Blvd. take 101N to Seaward then take a left on Tompson. You'll see it on the right. They have 2 WRX sedans avaialable now. the phone is 805.643.9259. i talked to Tom, but they couldn't get a WRX wagon any quicker then T.O. so I didn't buy from them. But they seem more competent.

I just got my silver WRX wagon last night. This car is so fun. It was worth the wait (put my order in late Feb). I am now a Subaru owner. Yeah.

Max101, show up at the Rim rally. Bruce Brown is rallying his older Subie. Talk to him there. He is a super neat guy. He is a gentleman racer. His rally car has an air cond and a cd player! I spoke to him the other day and he really likes his new WRX. Check the Rim website.
