Does anybody know what size the bulb is in the stock radio?

I want to say that they are #74's but I'm not entirely sure?

Does this work with older imprezas, like a 93, or is it for the more recent models... How much does something like this cost?

the pics may be deceiving but are the lights dimmer than before? I can't imagine they would be the same brightness. Did you replace bulbs?

or
74-x Wedge Base LED bulb
or what

for gauge cluster and hvac
i tried some LED's someone else said and it didnt work out so well..will one of those work just by swapping it?

Guys let us know if you have some conversion that you have problem with and we'll be able to get you taken care of.

Anything from Drivers Door switches and 05+ Hvac to converting aftermarket decks.

Here is one of the latest examples of work on Alpine IVA-W205 that was blue from factory.

and some custom work on clusters and switches.

For more info check my Interior Lighting thread

I didn't use that matrix bulbs, so I couldn't comment on that. But I used the high power red LED's from superbrightleds (the ones with 3 high powered LEDs facing all directions) and it worked out perfectly. Same result as your HVAC, but no frying on the circuit board. I highly doubt a LED can fry your circuit board unless you somehow managed to short circuit some of the wires in the circuit board. In my HVAC board, there are tons of dielectric grease to prevent such thing.

Great info in this thread! Unfortunately, none of it is regards to the '08-'09 Impreza 2.5i or Outback Sport. I'm trying really hard to learn how to change the colors of the instruments and HVAC, but I haven't been able to locate any information yet.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

This doesn't work on the '06-'07 WRX HVAC. They changed to surface mount LEDs. Each knob has 3 white and 1 orange. The plastic that the knobs are made of is actually tinted green with silver/grey paint on the face. Even if I change the white LEDs I doubt I'll end up with the color I want. Any ideas?
