It would be a hard purchase to make because it's so damn big. As much as I dislike the S3, I'd be more interested in the S3 mini (unless that thread was a joke).
That thread was no joke, it was posted on Engadget a week ago and I am pretty sure that it is real. As for the size, I can tell you that i was a bit worried about it before I bought galaxy s2 but got used to it within a day. Now I have the s3 and while I don't see myself ever going bigger, i don't mind the size and enjoy the extra real estate quite a bit.

I've been having a issue with the i5, now and then the camera flash gets out of sync. To fix the sync issue you have to do a soft reset. Small issue, but is a pain when you need to get a quick pic but can't.

Good to see Apple updating something useless like 3D imagery and not actually improve the amount of information their maps don't have. This crap pisses me off but not quite enough to plunk down $600 out of contract.

To whoever asked a few days ago- I've had no luck with convincing VZW to let me upgrade early. I've toyed with the idea of paying the ETF and moving to ATT or Sprint. I'd still come out $200 on top but neither carrier comes close to Verizon in terms of coverage, especially Sprint. My employer issued phone is Sprint and I never use it because it never has a signal. I usually end up calling customers from my personal line and hope they answer with the blocked caller ID.

Quick correction... I said AT&T's LTE was quick. It's not. It's downright fast. I didn't realize how fast.

And yes, I know Android phones blah blah blah two years ago blah blah blah. Frankly, 3G is adequate for my mobile needs so LTE speeds are just a nice bonus.

And Rattles... Everyone tells me I'd get used to a bigger phone. I don't doubt I would, but it's not what I want.

Ive yet to have any problems with the maps after 6 long drives over an hour each way with turn by turn navigation, it actually rocks. I think that map-gate is overblown from the pussified media to jump at anything bad from any new phone.

I could care less about turn by turn directions. I'm talking details like building names. I also just discovered that it has the Holiday Inn near me at the wrong address and it seems to think there is another on the south end of town in the middle of a residential area. Apple maps suck, no way around it.

I had asked. I was really surprised I couldn't get my upgrade moved up considering I thought I had a valid gripe. I'm sure they've caved for a lot less in the past. I found it funny though in the end, their final resolution to my bickering( which was very minimal IMO), was giving me apple's customer complaint line. Something tells me there has been a surge in early upgrade requests for the very same reasons and verizon doesn't feel like footing the bill.

Mike, what if you traded your phone with someone who has a 4 or 4S still on iOS 5?

Foxconn Workers on Strike After iPhone 5 Starts Brawls

The underpaid, overworked Chinese workers of Foxconn have had enough, according to a new report by China Labor Watch: thousands have gone on strike over immense iPhone manufacturing pressure and fistfights with their bosses.
The report comes after both a claimed uptick in working conditions by Foxconn, and a shortage of new iPhones—the most intricate of all time—on Apple's part. The latter, the labor watchdog claims, pushed Apple to demand greater output (and longer hours) by its outsourced labor army—and a steep drop in quality. Simply, people were being asked to build extremely sophisticated things without proper training. Exasperated by stretched hours and seemingly unfair expectations, the workers started beating up quality control staff, caught between enraged labor and indifferent management:

Quality control inspectors fell into to conflicts with workers and were beat up multiple times by workers. Factory management turned a deaf ear to complaints about these conflicts and took no corrective measures. The result of both of these circumstances was a widespread work stoppage on the factory floor among workers and inspectors.

According to workers, there was a fight between workers and quality control inspectors in area K that led to the damage in inspection room CA, the injury of some people, and the hospitalization of others. After this, another similar incident occurred in area K, once again leading to quality control inspectors getting beat up.

CLW's Executive Director, Li Qiang, says the reasons for the strike are simple: "these workers just have too much pressure." This certainly isn't the first time violence has been reported from the iPhone machine, and although the alleged 4,000 striking workers are a tiny part of Foxconn's staff in the hundreds of thousands, it could be enough to slow (or halt) iPhone 5 production. Which means you might have to wait a couple weeks longer for your (blood-spattered?) handset.

Found my first annoyance. Siri thinks I'm in St. Louis, GA when I ask for the weather.

Mother of god. Maybe AT&T will see fit for the kanawha valley to get LTE in the next few years.

I'm pretty much forced to AT&T because the plant I work in gets zero CDMA signal.

I have no idea. The notification bar is also correct. I'm guessing its a weird hiccup with the searching. Siri basically does a Wolfram Alpha search, right? Either that or I haven't set up Siri right. (Side note, I look forward to assigning myself a nickname)

I'll have to search Wolfram Alpha for "St Louis weather" and see if the error lies there.

Edit: the Siri picture does NOT show GPS active. The second picture is just of the weather app to show the correct temp. The GPS arrow is shown there by the battery meter.

Im glad my phone has a plastic back. Its what allows the NFC to work and allows for a replaceable battery. What's the point of glass and aluminium anyways if you're going to stick it in an otterbox anyway.

What's the point of buying a sports car if you getting it with an automatic transmission?

Hey, if you don't mind that your phone has the same build quality as a tv remote, more power to you. Personally, I don't use a case. I don't like the plastic feeling in my hand. Didn't like it on the 3GS and don't like it in a case.
