Secondary Air Injection inlet CLOGGED in Drivers Head

Hey, I have a question for the experts. I'm getting cel code p2443. I already changed out the pump and both valves.

The issue that I'm having is that there was a bunch of carbon built up in the hard pipe leading from the valve to the drivers head. I cleaned out the pipe really well and tried to clean out some of the carbon in the head. 2 weeks later my cel still came back on with p2443 so I did not get all the carbon in the head. Where does that inlet go in the head? Is it to the valves? Is it possible to clean out all the carbon out of there without pulling the head? If so, how? I'd really appreciate the help! Thanks.

i would imagine that you could use a flexible tube to get in there...if i remember correctly it goes to the combustion chamber...i used to stick a coat hanger in my egr system tubes to break up the carbon...would get alot of it

Thanks for the reply. I know that the system pumps air somewhere into the exhaust side of the head. Thus the carbon buildup. Someone surely must have rebuilt a head before. Please help!

There's a machined tube through the head, and then a drilled hole to each exhaust port runner.

You can pull the pipe, and using a long 1/4" brass brush on a drill you can clean it out.
