02 Wrx- Catless Dp, catless up-pipe, stock header ends with Injen cross pipe, no cats/muffler just a resonator....the car sounds amazing. Sounded like crap with no muffler or cats. The resonator helped with the drone. I legally canít pass inspection but thatís what friends are for lol

I ran nameless muffler deletes on my 2015 and never had any issues with inspections or legal issues.. And i thought they sounded good without spending like a grand on exhaust..

Ive ran the invidia catless for 8 years. Never had an issue. Too many Harley's, trucks, diesels, honda's are louder than me. That's more than enough ammo to fight a ticket.

So I know this is really old, but for what it's worth, the wording in the Texas law is such that it requires a muffler to prevent excess or unusual noise. I fought a ticket for no muffler (not noise violation) several years back and won on that premise. Technically, there is no law that says that you must have a muffler, it says that a muffler is required to limit noise, and you can't have a cutout, defeat device, etc. Removing the muffler is fine as long as it does not cause excessive noise (105 dB or something like that, if my memory serves correctly).

Basically, the fact that I did not receive a noise violation citation at the same time was grounds enough for dismissal of the ticket.

For whatever that information is worth to you guys...
