Default Levorg STI...my rental car

So while my car stays at the dealer for the bi-annual inspection required in Japan, they gave me the keys to the rental car...which happened to be a Levorg STI. Always wanted to drive one of these.

The pictures aren't perfect, but I wanted to shoot some quick photos before returning it.

The car rides very smooth while handling pretty well. It absorbed the bumps at the local touge with ease. The engine isn't different from the regular 2.0 Levorg. Makes about 295bhp. I think the main difference is in the suspension and bracing? Interior is much more refined than my GR. But I didn't like the steering feel or the steering rack (doesn't have the VAB STI steering rack ratio). Although I enjoyed driving this car, I am happy to have my GR back haha.

Maybe someday they will rent out the new s208

It's so annoying that we can't get this car in the US.

Yes, it is the perfect dadmobile. Should have taken a picture of the trunk. So much space!

In the photo, or the local touge? I took the photo at a parking spot on top of a mountain. I don't know the name of the local touge.

Yeah, I'm really surprised they don't sell this in the US. I'm sure it would do well.

Kind of an awkward look to it. Maybe I’m just used to seeing the sedan. I still think the sedan looks better.

Thanks for sharing! Cool to see.

Is the touge you go to a toll road? Where is it located?

I was able to drive the Iseshima Skyline in August and it was pretty fun, even in a rental Vitz

Wowie. Had no idea you could rent a Unicorn in Japan. Nice.

You're welcome! Yeah, it's a little awkward at first. There are some who put the sedan front fenders and bumper. Looks much better and aggressive.

Not a toll road. I'm too poor lol. Driving in Japan is expensive! It's located around the border of Osaka and Nara prefecture. I want to drive on all the famous touges here...just need time and money.

Me neither! Although I wouldn't consider it a unicorn in Japan haha. They also put drive recorders in the car

So interesting. The tail lights are very similar to the Ascent.

I really dig it. Thanks for the pics OP.

I could be wrong, but looks like it shares it's interior with the current WRX/STI limited? But CVT.

Thanks for sharing, OP.

Yeah, hardly a hatchback but a decent looking wagon if Legacy Wagon replacement.
Not a fan of those Levorg's.
