Default We’ll meet again

Around this time last year, I was looking around at cars and made my way to a dealership across town. To my suprise I found an 04 STI, clearly this car needed work. The owners of the dealership were pretty sketchy and didn’t want me messing with it to much. $14,500 for it, with 122k on the odometer. My opinion with the amount of work the car needed it most definitely was not worth it. I wasn’t a serious buyer or anything but around here you don’t see many of these at dealerships. Anyways a few moths later I heard someone bought it. But from what I had heard the owner sat in a parking lot and red lined it for 5 minutes and blew a rod through the block. Car was done for, but that wasn’t the last I’d see or hear about it. A friend was telling me someone across town had it under a tarp, his dad and him had thrown offers to take it off their hands but they turned down the offers. I drove past and saw it, felt pretty bad and wished the car best. And here we are today, late last night I found the car for sale on Facebook, $500 bucks the post stated. So instantly I was suprised to see this. That’s crazy low, like maybe a once in a lifetime oppritunity. This morning I went to check the car out, and met with the owners, super cool dudes, so we made a deal and shook on it. Somehow the price when I got there was $800 don’t know how that changed but no biggie. So I called up my friend with a trailer, and I was all set to go pick it up. I texted to ask if he did indeed have the title, no response. I then called to see if I could come over and put a set of wheels I had on to test fit them. No response, then five minutes later I get this text “We already had a deal with another guy and he was coming this morning and I was under the impression that you were him. The car is already sold. Sorry.” But I’m confused when I got there he said “it needs to be gone by tonight, other people want to come look at it” but I assured him I could have it gone by the afternoon. So I’m pretty positive he knew I wasn’t them especially if I didn’t have a trailer with me at the time we met. But Oh well stuff happens, and it just goes to show how untrustworthy people can be, but I have a feeling that maybe this isn’t the last time I’ll see this car.
