Default Hitch question

I was browsing retailer selection of hitches for 08 STI hatch. I really like EcoHitch model as it has removable receiver part. Basically, you don't see the hitch when you remove the receiver part.

However, I can't justify spending $293 when a standard hitch from Curt is only $125.

Are there any alternatives? Or at least other brands with hidden option? Post your pictures, please.

link to ecohitch?

I didn't know of ANY manufacterur offering what you are describing.

I looked on etrailer and I have to say its an interesting idea. I like that tis 2" but question how low it will end up.

I have the OE Subaru hitch on my 2004 WRX Sport Wagon, and with a 1.5" to 2" adapter it ends up barely able to clear a standard curb.

$300 for a hitch is too rich for my blood for sure.

If you spec a hitch for 08 STI hatch, you can see several customer pictures. The hitch receiver seems to be at the same height as in a regular hitch.
