Default doing an EJ25 swap into my 99 sportwagon...any tips?

wife blew up the stock 2.2
I found a complete(i.e. everything under the hood,,,engine mounts,brackets air box,accessories,main engine harness,and computer ) EJ 25 from a 2001 forester...my car is an auto
and the engine is from an auto....my main question is....
Are the transmissions the same?
if not...will the 2.5 work ? and what needs to be done to make it work?
will I need the transmission from the forester to make this work?
will I in turn need the proper rear diff with the trans.? or are the gear ratios the same?

will I need to replace the cat.? and the reast of the exhaust...I have a Y pipe from a 2.5 rs I'm using...but from there backhow similar is the 2.2l exhaust?
any other tip or tricks would be very welcome to make this swap go faster and smoother....
I'm a 9 yr veteran tech and a 5 yr veteran car audio installer...so feel free to get technical....I'm ase and mecp certified
future questions I may have involve valve body mods to improve shifting ...anyone know of a modified torque converter I can get?
any way...this is enough on this topic....lol
any input from ya'll would be greatly appriciated

#2 and #4 connecting rod bearing went....bent a valve or two in the # cylinder head...
I plan on eventually over hauling the engine and maybe selling it with the comptuer and main harness...I plan on doing a little port work and some other performance mods to it as I get some extra money...the port work and most of the other building stuff I can do myself...I just need the replacement parts...so give it away? no....maybe consider a resonable offer to buy it as is or over hauled

does it have the one or two port exhaust on the heads? if it is two port I might be interested in making a offer on it... or at least the heads.
