Default JDM STI V7 shortblock VS JDM STI V7 Spec C shortblock

Hi, does anybody know whats the difference between the normal JDM STI V7 shortblock and the V7 Spec C shortblock? are they identical or spec C is better in some ways? how can i tell if i have a Spec C block?

the shortblocks are the same I believe.... spec c has better flowing heads

rumors have abounded that the spec c crank has been nitrated(cold treated to make itr stronger)

to my knowledge they are almost the same, but as you mentioned there might be a slight post processing to some of the internal parts such as nitriding.

I think the V7 Spec C has the same intake manifold as the V8 with no TGV parts.

If all you are dealing with is the shortblock the standard V7 will take a hell of alot of power, more than most people will ever push through it. Even on broken subies in the US I bet a broken crank is pretty rare, usually its pistons or rods that break.

V7 Spec C is essentially the same as a ver8 motor except with no twin-scroll system and with forged pistons instead of the hypercast ones they put in ver8s and newer. Same heads and cams as a ver8.
