Raffi - I heard about the fire from Chris this morning. Really sorry to hear this. It really is the last straw after all the crap you've had with this car. What's up with the 6spd, suspension, etc.? dude, I'll take your brakes off for you for free. let me know. do you have the STi trailing arms too? do you still have the stock lateral links? I can probably help you remove those as well. just let me know if you need a hand wrenching. Damn, this really sucks. I guess you can just get an STi and call it a freaking day.

6sp is in the car. All the wires on the trans are melted, but i don't think i'm going to be able to get the trans out of the car. If the insurance company will give me a few days i'll get a blown 5sp to put in and pull the 6sp out, then just sell that real cheap. The EDFC motors in the front are toast, and the tops of the coilovers are burnt...but i guess they should be ok....not that i have a stock suspension to replace it with. And for the trailing arms I don't have the stockers, so unless they get sold to someone they go with the car...although i could probably just give it to the insurance company without them and they wouldn't even notice. As for the STI, i don't think i'll be getting anything near that expensive. But it really all depends on what the insurance company will give me, and what happens to my rates becasue of this.....but i'm thinking a Honda Civic/Scion tc to beat up on and a Kawasaki 636 to have my fun on. $200 a month for a car and bike, plus cheap insurance is win-win in my book. |

when do you need to get all this stuff off the car? If you have STi trailing arms I would be interested in those. I'm installing on Sat but I can give you a couple of hours next week I'm sure, maybe on Sunday but probably not.

Dunno what my deadline is. I'm gonna file the claim tomorrow and then just play it by ear, i'm hoping they'll let me keep the car here and have the adjuster come to look at it here. I can do Sunday if you can, if not let me know what's good for you, i'm free most weeknights after 5pm and fairly available on weekends. Too bad those pink bits never got the beating they were intended for |

The JDM V8 has more lumbar support than stock but not by much. V8 Bolstering is also more supportive. Lateral leg is much more supportive. Shoulder support is about the same. The V7 has much more lumbar support than stock...suprisingly they are not as firm as the USDM STi seats but stiff just enough not to be uncomfortable (sustained 2hr drive okay). V7 bolstering is also much more supportive. Lateral leg is more supportive. Shoulder support is more. The adjustibility on the seats was on the US passenger side, and I left as-is. I like the USDM seat in the lowest position. I found that no adjustibility meant the V8 sat higher than I liked. The V7 sat also a tad higher than I like but is more tolerable. Overall, I like the V7 better. |
