Default Oil smell and white smoke

Hi, Iíve been getting the smell of oil from my car and white smoke from the mufflers. I went ahead and changed my oil because it was dirty and I had too much in the engine and thought that the car was burning oil because I had too much of it. Now that all that is done when I drive normally thereís no smell or smoke but I noticed that when I step on it I get the smell of oil.. 2016 Subaru sti. Any advice on what I should do and what it might be?

How much did you overfill?

If you way overfilled, I'd be checking behind the timing cover and looking up the access port between the engine and trans to see if either the cam or front/rear main seals are now leaking. Also possible you're just smelling burnoff from whatever was in your exhaust.

I heard that white smoke is a sign of a bad head gasket, but I don't think that's the problem in your case.
