Default Tires for a 9.5in rim

What size tire is "supposed" to be on a 9.5in wheel?

255 looks like it's a little stretch. Would I be able to fit 275's on a 17x9.5 in wheel with +38 offset? (2002 wagon)

Upon further research... I don't think a wagon could even fit a 9.5 wheel with a +38 offset :|

not without cutting the fenders

anything bigger than 17x8 with a 235/40 will be problematic

Yeah, I've spent the past hour looking around.

If I want to run a 17x9, I need to either:
Stretch a bunch (no point in getting a 9in rim)
Run a ton of camber (meh)

So I think I'll try and go with 17x8, I want to get a decent amount of meat on my tires.

yup everyone knows that too tall = a blowed up car right? stop spouting fear mongering, Cupcake

235/45 is stock size on the 2011+ which has the same gearing. it wont hurt anything. if he wants to run that size for his own reasons, there's no reason he CANT. hell i run a 26" tire for my winter setup and its AWESOME.

18x8.5 or 17x8.5 et48 with 245/40/18(17) works for me. Fenders rolled and pulled, -1.75 front, -1.3 rear camber.

I know you know this Jesse, but figured I put it down for others.

boop.

I saw that when searching.

My question regarding that car is, if it were lowered another inch or two, would the tire still clear the fender or would you then have rubbing issues?

Cupcake, the fenders are rolled and camber added to not rub. Plus there's plenty of space for travel before any hypothetical contact. I highly doubt it's "stiff as a stone"

My 450lb springs on my Feal 441 coilovers are actually quite comfortable. And anyone with the setup will agree with that.

Just because its not 225/45/17 RSRs, doesn't make it bad. Nor is everyone driving on the dirt roads that you CLAIM to drive on. Get yer head outta yer bunghole.

I have a 2010 hatch as per my profile.

You can look up my setup, and it is slightly similar as far as difficulty as fitment but it doesn't exactly translate.

its going to be extremely hard to fit that much meat properly on a wagon....

in all reality, that is far too big of a wheel if you want as much rubber as you can functionally get on the road.

On this same note, I bought Rota Grid 18x9.5 and I wanted to know if they will fit on my 07 STi sedan (no drop) w/ 255-40-18's ... Otherwise, I will get other size tires?

Opinions will be greatly appreciated...

If you have no drop, I don't think it really matters?

Offset would help...

For insight had 18x9's +29 advan 235/40/18 on my previous 07 required a good amount of fender work in the rear.

No those wont fit. Yes, you'll need smaller tires. Yes, that will look rediculously wierd at stock height.

I put 245-40-18's on 18x9.5 rota grids (w/ 5mm spacers all around). Front seems fine. Rears rub on hard cornering and when car is loaded. I'm have all four fenders roll to avoid issues and to prepare for future coilovers..
