Question Do I understand?

Ok, so let me know if I got this straight...I am going to be getting a new summer set up this spring and be using my stockers as my winter set up.

Here we go:

Car: 2011 WRX stock suspension. May go with the Eibach prokit lowering springs (drop 7/8")

I can do the following without rolling fenders? (as I just don't want to do it because I have enough going on and don't feel like paying someone else $150 to do it ):
18x8.5 or 18x9 40-44ish mm offset. Best tire size would be 245/35/18.
17x9 30ish mm offset with 245/40/17

Thanks in advance for entertaining my noob "question". Just wanted to be 100% before I order anything this spring...

AND nevermind. I have answered my own question. I will be going with 17x9 45mm offset with 245/40/17. Using the Eibach springs and hopefully this will save me a from rolling the rear.

Question...

I keep seeing folks with Enkei RPF1's on their cars.

What offset on an 18x9.5 is everyone using on for these. I was shopping for wheels and was told because of the design of the wheel I would need a 15mm spacer to clear the Brembos on the '08+ STi.

Surely that cant be the case. Anyone?

Yes, it is the case. Most people are using spacers.

Here's comprehensive list of rpf1 figment for the 5x114 cars

I guess I should have used the search function or the google... lol

Thanks!

and wow +15 offset to clear the brembos without spacer. Anyone got a picture of how far past the fender the 18x9.5 variety sticks out? (I did search for that this time with no luck)

Pretty far. You'll need a roll, stretched tires, coils with front camber plates and rear lower control arms for that to fit.

Alright so I think I got this down, read through countless pages of this thread, just wanted to get the for sure confirmation. I want to stick with stock suspension and no fender rolling, an 18x9 +45 or higher with 255/35/18 would be my best bet? or an 18x9.5 +45 or higher with 255/35/18? I like the wide tire look, the farther the tire can stick out without looking goofy the better.

Just roll your fenders. I think any 9.5" with a 255 is going to rub in the back regardless of offset.

I came across a great deal locally on a wheel/tire combo, with 1000 miles on them. 17x8 bronze rpf1's with continental dws 225/50 tires. I did some research and it was still a little unclear on if this setup would fit on my wrx, which is lowered on some epic eng. springs. I had 4 people in my car last night, and even with that, while going over a few speed bumps, there's no rubbing at all. Just in case anyone was thinking about adding a tire in that size to a lowered car, it will work if you're not slammed. Not the ideal size, but for the price it was hard to pass up.

I'm just talking from my own experience. The first post also said I can run 18x9.5" +38 with a 265/35 with no problems, but I had to pull my fenders and run 4* of camber and it still rubs.

Dunno what to say. You're doing something wrong.

An 18x9.5 +45 with 255's will fit easily, without modification.

i have no clue how your having issues digital, i have the 275/35/18's now on 18x10 +28 and i have no issues at all, rubs occassionally on hard bumps but nothing too crazy.

It really comes down to the tire, because they can vary greatly in width for any given size. That's why you can't make blanket statements that it absolutely will or won't rub.

While tire size does play an effect, in this scenario it's irrelevant.

Even if it was a full size larger, an 18x9.5 +45 with a 255 should have no issues.

The first post describes essentially the "fine line" that you tried to walk - my guess is your 265's were more like 275's.

There's no need to argue on here. Please just report what you have experienced directly. The rest of us can decide what to do with the information.

Keep in mind that you may have different results depending on the tire brand and type, how low your car is, how much load is in the car, and how wide the wheel is. This is not an exact science; be prepared for variance in the results.

I appreciate the first hand experience, but like I said I don't really want to roll them, although it seems your offset is a little off, I have heard +45 is what you need for no rubbing. Would it be better to go with a 18x9 then? Thoughts?

Are you running camber arms in the rear? How much camber in the rear?

no arms what so ever in the rear, and honestly i have zero clue how much camber i have in the back, its natural camber from slamming the car.

I have a 2011 STI looking to do rota D2-EX 18x9.5 wheels. Now just not sure on the offset i want to do +30mm offset but the other option is +38. For now i will have the stock dunlops on them, 245/40R18 i dont think i will have problems fitting that, my rear fenders are rolled/pulled a bit and the fronts are stock, will that rub?

if i put 255/35 (obvously depending on the brand also from what im reading) with the +30 whats the chances that will rub? i would like to do 265's but i doubt that will work without rolling the fronts right?
Also just running RCE yellow springs so lowered but not by much. and lastly trying to avoid really any camber if i can, or at least not to the point where it will dramatically effect my tire life.

Thanks guys from what im reading i think it will work fine but just want some more opinions for this specific setup.

wow i read so much i cant keep anything straight now...

I think I've settled on a wheel choice and came across some good pricing, but I need to place an order this month.

Car is a 14 wrx hatch.

Suspension plans are koni yellows with rce black springs. 09 front struts.

Wheels I'm looking at are 17x9 et 40. I'd be running the stock 235/45/17 dunlops.

Curious if I'd have to roll the rears with this set up.

Thanks guys.
