Did a long awaited Christmas tree install. No idea how much extra downforce it generates, but it must be quite a bit which will definitely help at the track. I made sure to get the Nobel Fir version, which I believe was designed by Noble for their new M600 supercar.

That thing is sexual. An HPT VS lip would look mean with that setup.

Anyone else ponder about the implications that come with the 11-14 WRX not being the latest generation WRX? Those of us keeping their cars for this long, like myself, probably are happy with the car and/or want to try to get the most out of it instead of taking a hit on a new car payment.

I was just realizing recently that with the new generation, getting rid of aftermarket stuff on my car is going to get harder and harder as the GR/GV chassis becomes less and less popular. Hmmmm hope resale stays high for these cars.

And I know this is a picture thread, but its clearly dying slowly so I was just curious if other people felt the same. Stuff like wheels will easily sell.. built motor/paint or body work on the other hand would have to stay with the car. Maybe exhausts and suspension would be the most expensive bolt-ons one would hope to sell?

Nasioc has a strong classifieds section so hopefully its no big deal... I mean folks with bugeyes are still buying and selling stuff on here.

Either way, I'm not selling mine anytime soon! Here's a picture

lol it's winter man. People aren't going out and snapping photos of their dirty cars.

I have a 2013 and I'm going to continue upgrading. This is a fantastic looking car. It's the first real departure in styling for the wrx in a while. The wrx literally looks the same (minus facelifts) from 2001-2007. The 2015 is a good looking car, don't get me wrong, but it looks like a civic had a baby with an evo. I have mixed feelings about it.

I would have to say I'm still satisfied, and hope to stay that way for a while. After a year and a half of ownership, I still turn back to look at it when I park and walk away.

There are still millions of these cars on the road. It's not like they all disappear when a new model is released.

Agree with the above. The new model means nothing really. Look at all the bug eyes and other GD chassis cars.

I plan to keep mine until there is nothing left of it.

Bc picture thread and relates to topic of discussion:

Yeah, the 02-07 is still selling well, both the cars and the parts. So I doubt the 11-14 will slow down any time soon. I plan on keeping mine for a while, then picking up a GC to swap in a few years.

I still have a long upgrade plan for the car! She's just a baby.

There are less than 100,000 MY11-14 WRXs on the road. What percentage actually modify their car? What percentage is your bodystyle? I'm guessing that number is maybe near 1000 and falling due to the new model. But you're right, they're not going anywhere. Just my opinion, it makes sense to buy and sell within a model lifecycle because there are more interested buyers.

It's good to be positive though and I agree with you guys

I thought about this before i let the mod bug run rampant. But i decided to go for it with the intentions of keeping the car. Eventually it will not be my DD and will be a weekend/beat run/snow/track/etc car. who knows the path it will take really but my need for an STi has been fullfilled with this car and i look forward to the day when it is in a 3 bay garage next to a big smoke breathing diesel truck and a DD (CTS-V, Audi Q7/allroad, etc).

I will say that i have it insured on agreed value for enough that i could pick up both a 15 WRX and STi... gotta hedge the risk of loss somehow

I have noticed some of the first '11+ class owners have already sold, but there is still a super strong following and interest in this generation. By far the most iconic of body styles in the GR and manufacturers are still coming out with new products for this generation as well. The used parts market for aftermarket parts will always be strong as well (similar to the bugeye and hawkeye). My car is not even 2 years old and I enjoy it more every day. Just look it to Mammoth Mtn for the weekend (first time since several upgrades, including suspension and stage 2) and it was awesome! Decent MPG for a performance car and it handles the cold and snow great. Me and my girl are in for the long haul that's for sure.

Relier... love the pics with the cargo box on top. Looks awesome. What kinda of MPG are you seeing with that on top?

There will always be a demand for these cars. Look at the previous gen, you'll still see some of the STI's in the 20k range. Impressive to say the least. I don't see a lot of GR hatches around my area really. Once in a while, but not too often. More STI sedans than anything though. However, there is nothing wrong keeping this car for the long term. As long as you are good to it and listen to what the car tells you, it'll last a long time. Unfortunately, the gear head in me always has my mind turning of wanting other cars, so when I do decide to let it go, it won't be because I am tired of it. Simply because I just want something different. It really is a great all around car. Obviously things can be improved on it inside and out, but for a sub 30k car... there isn't much I can complain about.

Old pic to stay on topic

^ exactly I was not tired of my car, but simply for such an awesome deal for my V that I felt it was time, my wrx took Me on a 3800 mile trip from fla to nor cal and more at stage 3 (torqued performance map) with my only complaint being my fear of blowing the transmission.
