MA, FS/FT 15'' legacy rims & (basicly) new tires
SOLD
95 Legacy L Rims. 3 good ones, 1 bad one of these rims has a small bend....it will hold air, but starts to deflate after a few days. the tires are basicly BRAND new, only used for about 800 miles. with a little paint job these would be GREAT for rally rims ! Lincolns head is gone ! even from the tire in the back, you can see how much meat these things have... lookin for any parts that could be considered an upgrade for a 95 Legacy L.... and cash....or just cash

So... How do you know the wheel is actually bent ?
Does it go thump... thump... thump... thump thump when you drive down the road ? These wheels are fairly strong. I think it would take a conciderable hit to actually bend one |

I would like to see these wheels go to a good home.
I figure by giving the thread a periodic "Bump" some one will eventualy buy his girlfriends wheels. BTW, even though these wheels are rather mangey looking, they are fairly strong and light weight wheels. They just arent large enough to clear a WRXs massive front rotors. |

Oh, and James if you are interested in these enough to offer more then the $120 I offered, feel free to do so. While "off brand" tyres in this size may indeed retail for as much as ~ $80-90 bucks mounted and balanced (roughly $ 350 for all four) few people are willing to take a chance on them.
These 15 inch rims will fit pretty much all Subarus built prior to 2000, although the Tyres are much too small for your average Outback or Outback Sport. |

The issues surrounding the "dent" suggest that this is only a "phantom dent" that was more likely imagined than anything else. There is no tell tale "Thump Thump" when driving, and there is no visibible damage. I doubt that there is any dent at all... Just a disclaimer that one of the wheels has a slow leak. The "slow leak" could also be down to a leaking tyre valve, or more likely could be a result of all the corrosion on the rims.

Wheels still for sale...... I'm @ Army training right now though, if anyone wants them I am only going to be around every other weekend. I'm guessing I might have better luck selling them if I refinish them..... Just bought a new sandblaster |

If you must use a sandblaster... use a very mild abrasive compound... something that will remove the "clear coat", but not scratch the aluminium alloys.
These wheels clean up easily with your typical spray and wash commercial wheel cleaner product. You can then either paint them, or apply a new "clear coat" if they cleared up nicely. Also... its my experience that these wheels have been clear coated on the outside but the inner part of the rim is often left untreated... porous aluminum soaks up road salt saturated water and corrosion takes place underneath the clear coat... You should cleanup the underside of the rims and then apply a protective coat of paint/sealer to the inner rim to prevent a recurrence of this condition. Oh and when your tyre shop mounts tyres on these rims... insist on them not using the typical lead weights that they attach to the outer rim bead. The balance weight mounted on the rim in the first picture mounted in the four o'clock location of the rim is a classic example. Steal on aluminium... Galvanic action, which results in corrosion... Instead, have them use the "glue on" weights that are placed on the inner part of the rim. Most of members on this board drive WRXs or STis that require 16" or larger wheels. So I wouldnt expect a whole lot of buyers. On the other hand, many rally car drivers on a budget love these 15" wheels.. cheap, readily available and fairly light weight and sturdy. Good luck.
