I loved mine. Went anywhere I pointed it. I read that engine swaps were problematic though because the tranny was the only one of its kind (similar to Subie trannys) and it wouldn't withstand much over 100hp.

Hmm. they seemed pretty robust. Actualy pretty neat. They were FWD>shift>4WD. Got dang good mpg's with 60hp in a 1.5, iirc? Reliable as all hell. Ex-GF of mine had one for a bit and it got wrecked several times and over-heated and many other things and still soldiered on like no other...

Yup. 1.5L 3-AC engine. Mine had 329,000 miles and ran a hell of a lot better than that POS '96 Ford I mentioned earlier. Great gas mileage, and could shift on the fly into 4wd. It always amused me when I had to wait up for my buddy in a 13 year newer car to shift into 4wd. No balls whatsoever, but it was a damn fun car. The power steering cap said Toyoda, the actual name of the founder of the company. Eventually it ended up with a charging problem. Battery, alternator and regulator were good, so I figured it was in the wiring, which I knew was a can of worms. Wish I could have fixed it and kept it.

Hey DeathToad, did you enjoy your 06 CTS-V? Any gripes about it?

No gripes with the V at all, I'd own another one in a heartbeat. They weight close to 4,000 lbs but that and the no-lows Bose stereo were its only drawbacks. 400hp and 400tq LS2 with a bulletproof T-56 tranny. Still have the 'Cadzilla' plates I got for it - with some flowmasters it sounded like a really gnarly grampa car. My paw-in-law has an '06 GTO with the same drivetrain but the Caddy was a better car in every way. With its traction control and 400-lb of rock salt in the back it was actually not bad in the snow either.

Ahahahaha My brother actually has a bunch of flat rimmed hats with the stickers still on the bill and everything. AND he spent $200 on some Ken Block Monster sunglasses. I could never live up to that kind of bro-ness.

On a side note, SLC is terrible for big trucks towing car hauler trailers. Already have to replace the nose fairing on my new CBR thanks to the superfast timing on the gates to the parking complex downtown. Oh well, that and an exhaust are already on their way!

The '05-'07 Five Hundred was a boring car, but at least it was vaguely handsome with Audi A6-lookalike proportions.
That right there invalidates everything he says in the article. That was the worst read.

Actually i kinda agree with a lot of that, but they didn't take it far enuf...
Tiburon: both of those gen's sucked, but ironically the next generation of it was actually not bad looking. Then it turned into the Genesis coupe and got even better.
Acuras: that last generation before the late-2000's big-aluminum-shield-grill revolution were some awesome looking cars. The TSX and TL were sweet, then they killed the styling a few years later for the whole lineup... (and killed the integra)
Camaro: Realistically, both those sucked, the Camaro/Firebird styling died after '69. One of the best looking cars of the 60's, then.. trash.
WRX/STi: Well, of course i agree, i do hate the 04/5 fronts. But i do see how they tried to go back to a retro-GC styling with the 04 front. However, meh, still failboat. Tho for the article they really should have picked the new legacy flop... That was worse. The 05-09 were gorgeous. and then OMG!!! WTF happened?

Does anyone want to buy an 03 wrx gauge cluster? I bought it off KSL a couple months ago and never plugged it in. Asking $30.
