News Sylvania headlights 25% off at Advance Auto.

We just got the new sales flyers in. From October 29th through November 25th, all Sylvania headlights are on sale, including the new Silverstar Ultra's.

I forgot to get prices on the single headlights, and the standard ones in the blue package. I have work tomorrow, so I'll try to remember to get the prices on the singles and edit this tomorrow night. Here's what is in the sales flyer though:

Sylvania XtraVision twin pack: $13.88
Sylvania Silverstar twin pack: $27.88
Sylvania Ultra twin pack: $35.88

Again, I get nothing out of posting this, I'm just trying to save some Tristaters some money. I'll keep you guys posted on other really good deals we have going on.

I forgot to go around and get single prices, but these are what I remember from what I sold.
Sylvania Silverstar single - $14.88
Sylvania Xtra Vision - $8.88
Sylvania (normal bulb) - $7.98 (not on sale)

Sylvania XtraVision twin pack: $13.88------ are these any better than the standard OEM bulbs that come in the 06' imprezas?

They claim to be 20% brighter. Some bulb styles are higher wattage on the low beam though.

Sorry to **** on the thread but according to this sticky in the electrical and lighting section of the forum silverstars suck.

http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=954736

I've also had a bad experience on two cars with them burning out after only a couple months. (no I didnt touch the bulbs.)

They were still brighter than my stock bulbs. Even so, 25% is 25%.

I don't know how they are on Subarus but the Sylvania Silverstars are highly regarded in the Jeep community. I put them in 3 of my Jeeps and they made a HUGE difference. Almost every night someone would ask where I got HID's for a Jeep. lol I got them on sale then too. I'll pick these up and snap a few shots tonight. We shall see...

Damn it, just saw the sale ended already. =( Anyone want to sell me theirs if they don't plan on installing?

the silverstars arent so great... I got em once back in the day, they were OK, better than stock, but stupid expensive compared to others out there... they soon burnt out, like everyone said they would...

HIDs are all too affordable now to overlook, especially with kits in every bulb-size.. they may be 4x the cost still, but i havnt ever seen them burn out.
i beleive if you search, the highly recommended bulbs are the Osram Silverstars.. i think these are the same bulbs, but made in a different country, who apparently gets better materials.

however, i had Sylvania extravisions in my WRX, and they were a good bit brighter than stock, for the same cost as a standard bulb.

I posted a few prices on single bulbs, from what I can remember. I had to post alot of the green tags yesterday, so some of them stuck in my head.

Also, if any of you guys are hunters... we got this in. I picked one up as a means of getting myself into trouble, but it's pretty cool. It's rechargable, takes an H4 headlight, and puts out 17,500,000 candlepower. $38 and change.

silverstars arent brighter, just a different color...theyre a coated bulb. therefore, theyre gonna burn out faster and not as bright as non-coated bulbs.

people need to venture into the electrical/lighting forum.

Osram silverstars on the other hand, are brighter but hard to find.

They were still brighter than my stock bulbs, but I grap your... er.. I was debating posting prices on silverstars, but some people swear by them so I figured why not.

I want to pick up a set of Sylvania Yellowstars from rally lights. Higher wattage, and a yellow output. /hijack

High beam is supposed to last 45 minutes. It says that the more often you recharge it, the longer the battery pack will last.

So which bulb would be best for the '06 WRX... Xtravision or Silverstar? I'm going to try and swing by there tomorrow if I have time. Also, does anyone have any comparison pics from stock? I'm going to try and snap a few before and after shots. And lastly, is there any type of warranty with these bulbs from either Advance Auto or Sylvania? I never had a problem with any of my Sylvania Silverstar Jeep lights.

Which is best is debatable. I would go with Xtravisions due to problems with Silverstars in my own car, though I did like the white light output. No warranty on bulbs though.

What are the normal prices for the bulbs? If it's that big of a difference I may just buy both the Silverstars and Xtravisions.

Silverstars are $40 for the pair, and $50 for the Ultra's.

I prefer the GE Nighthawks over the Silverstars. (None of that fancy blue coating crap) There bright as hell and have lasted over a year now.

I agree. I'd get GE over SS. I've had 3 sets of SS and I wasn't too pleased with the performance. GE nighthawks is simply amazing at fraction of cost.

And where can I get these GE Nighthawks? I've never heard of them.
