The fastener holes didn't line up very well for me. Particularly the passenger side. In order to get the cover on it makes the whole engine cover "bow" up when in all 4 holes. This is with all the trim under cut away.

^ That should not happen. Recheck the install. Are you using the aftermarket mounting 'nubs'?

Here is a scan of the OEM on one of our preliminary designs to show you how we build from the OEM components.

Putting together a charge pipe kit also. The design is better than current offerings (no welds, larger bend radii, etc.), but the price is higher than I'd like. Unless there are decent gains, this may be a better option to have once going to an aftermarket turbo with significantly higher flow rates. We shall see.
Sorry to drag up an old thread/post, but I haven't seen any numbers regarding the charge pipe anywhere. Its expensive and you made it anyways, so the gains must be there. You guys have any data you can share?

Like always, I'll tell you it makes gains (we wouldn't make it otherwise), but if you want 'numbers' ask the customers using it. I know there are some out there that have upgraded the Chargepipe only or Done the Chargepipe after the Aftercooler.

Bah, I figured you would say that. I've found some that did other charge pipes but I guess I'll keep digging through dyno plots.

In case anyone is interested, check out one of our recent facebook posts. I came across a used Limited Release Edition 'Hell Box' Aftercooler that was sitting in a box in a closet that I had forgotten about. Besides being used and abused for testing, it just needs a new home and the price is right.

Instruction set I just sent to a customer...

It takes some wrestling and patience, but it should get in there. Remove the mounting brackets on each side. Install the throttle body coupler on the throttle body first. You may also want to remove the MAP sensor plug that is on the top center and facing back on the manifold, and the hose that runs along the backside. Basically anything you can easily get to, remove or move to the side, to give you more wiggle room. From there you want to get the throttle body side on first, then the charge-pipe side. If you're using the OEM charge pipe, you may need an assistant to hold it out of the way.

I went ahead and ordered it because KB has a great reputation and I had heard a couple people say the really like it.

If you have any dyno plots please share!!

Mine rubs a bit also. How hot does the charge pipe get and what did you do to fix it?

Touches the timing cover? If you pull it out of the coupler on the Aftercooler a bit, you should have some 'wiggle' clearance. This area is really VERY tight with not much room to spare, but with some care it should all go to the right places

Thanks for the tip. Anyone else here have any luck fixing the rubbing under the stock CAI air funnel?

Also when I adjust, after a hard drive it seems to go back where it was.

The pipe is killer and the power gains are worth the cost, just hoping for a perfect OEM fitment if possible?

It shouldn't be moving around if everything is good and tight.

The problem with this area is there is very little space to begin with. Options are to go with a smaller diameter tube, or form the tube into a non-round shape in some areas. Both of these options will yield poorer results.

With some massaging and coercing, it should find a place where there's no rubbing. I find trying to push it to the 'right spot', doesn't work as well as removing the tube and re-installing it to the better location.

I do agree, the results have been great, as has been the customer feedback on power/response gains

Will this work with a 2010+ legacy gt, the turbo setup is the same, and it is kind of annoying how nobody manufactures parts for them.

So we had a guy come in with a LGT and remove the factory TMIC. The part number of the OEM TMIC was the same as the 2015+ WRX, so swapping them should work. The charge-pipe on the other hand I'm not so sure on, we could not remove it to verify

Bump from the dead... We are still making these and still getting great performance reviews. The most efficient intercooler you can put on your FA20 powered WRX!

We will be closing this thread to make room for more product development posts. Please feel free to PM, e-mail or FB us for any information on pricing and availability.

Now that we've got our dyno cell fully operational, we've started going back through our products to get baseline and product feedback on our own dyno.

This was an interesting one. We did several pulls with the OEM TMIC vs the Killer B TMIC. Results were about what we had seen previously with no surprises. Not being pigeon holed into someone else's dyno schedule allowed us to play for days rather than hours. Again, no drastic results from anything we've previously posted, but we did come across an interesting set of pulls that really shows how much of a benefit the Killer B TMIC can be.

The cold pull was the first pull of the day on the OEM TMIC. This tends to produce the most 'ideal' results in regards to intercooler performance as nothing is heat soaked yet. The hot pull shown here was the last pull of the day with the Killer B TMIC. As you can see by the conditions, everything was much hotter, but at the end of the pull the Killer B TMIC pulled temps below that of the OEM TMIC even with the heat soak.

Coolant temp were within 1 degree of each other, and all other engine parameters (boost, timing, AFR, etc...) were consistent as well.

Looking for feedback on the KillerB Aftercooler. Preferably dyno plots but any feedback would be great. The Aftercooler is performing well but we are always looking for ways to improve our product.
