Default 02 Forester EJ205 WRX engine/bulkhead harness swap - Help/Advice/Guidance needed

I recently picked up a Forester after selling my STI and I absolutely love it. There are a couple of minor things that I wish I could change, but overall, this is one of those cars that I just loved from the first minute I drove it.

Currently, I'm in the middle of trying to get the parts together to install an EJ205. I've got a build thread going on my local chapter, but now that I'm coming up on actually doing the deed I've got more questions.

Here is the build thread
http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=2306123

And some questions I have:

Do I need to use the WRX a/c system?

Do I need to use the WRX radiator?

Bump. I'm trying to stay on track- after talking to iwire I have a little bit more confidence in this swap. Just curious about the little things like a/c, from looking at it I would guess that the a/c would work fine...same with the radiator. It is an aluminum one with slim fans I think.

It's going, I have a thread in the southwest region forum. Motor and wiring harness is going in tomorrow, subframe is in, merged harness is done, gonna have an issue using the wrx rack though.

What issue with the WRX rack? Which steering column are you using? Did you get the HVAC stuff sorted?

I'm running the Forester Dash, EDM STI Cluster with a custom cluster harness (made it from pieces of a WRX and Forester Harness from the junk yard) and the Forester HVAC stuff. The AC Compressor from the EJ251 in the Foz will bolt onto the EJ205 with some slight bracket modification.

Rack is STI, u-joint and column are WRX without the riser blocks in the trans crossmember or the engine subframe. Radiator is 04 WRX with custom top mounts.

My issue is that the column is SF forester like a gc rs, and has rough splines and needs the linkage modified. I didn't see that coming so the car is spending another week in the garage.

Got the interior HVAC stuff sorted, anxious to see what happens with the compressor. Did you grind the bracket down or what?

I'm looking to do this too, however this is my very first swap, is there anywhere that someone has documented a 205 swap for foresters?

To specify on this I've got an 02 subaru forester that's got 267k on it and there's a guy I'm looking to buy a pair of engines off of to sort of upgrade on power and economy. to quote his listing
"I have two EJ205 engines I’m trying to get rid of, one is a long block but the block has a spun rod bearing, the second is a short block with nothing wrong with it, bought it and only needed the heads.
Price is $250 OBO
I’ve got plenty of other Subaru parts as well."
The longblock is:

and the short block:

I'm kind of worried about going into this as this is a first for me. I've got next to no idea what I'm getting myself into
