Make/model doesn't matter.

Bank 1 sensor 2 stuck lean.

Your post-cat O2 sensor isn't producing voltage. Either it's dead, the wiring is damaged or you have a significant exhaust leak.

Have done much to reduce sound in my 2013 sedan, installed a oem hood liner insulation pad from a later model that made a huge difference in sound in the cabin.

Tell me more about the blower cover mod?

Thanks

Michael

Motor cover is P/N: 66066FJ010

I'd call it more of a retrofit than a mod.

Traps noise originating from under the dash and firewall.

Easy installation and well worth doing in my opinion.

Ordered caliper rebuild stuff today, i think one of my pistons has rusted or has corrosion under the dust seal which is why it is hanging up once they are hot

PSA-

I used my tow hook for the first time today as a tie down for a surfboard. The threads of the hole were a little sticky/rusty. Probably not a bad idea to put some lubricant like fluid film or anti seize on them.

Probably no big deal where it doesn't get salty but in a few years I could see it getting hard to get the hook on.

So over the past 2 weeks or so, I've developed another clunk coming from what seems to be the rear. Last time it was the RSB, seems like the endlinks are all intact and still tight, so not sure what the issue is.

From what I've been able to notice, seems to clunk when turning left or right and lower speeds, ie turning onto a road etc. Tried to get under the car to look but had an accident that involved stairs and me missing a few, so mobility has been impaired for a little while. Any other things to check to see what it could be?

sway bar, other suspension things, brakes.

my car has a clunk once the brakes are hot and you press and release the brakes, currently rebuilding the front calipers, one of the pistons on the FR wheel has a decent amount of rust corrosion buildup which I am 99% sure is my clunk.

So my dragging brake issue that just started after new brakes is so far gone now that i rebuilt my calipers...........there wasnt much corrosion but 1 piston per front caliper had some corrosion inside the dust seal and i guess that was enough.

It it needs to be done again i am just buying new calipers, it isnt that it was tough because it was super easy and relatively quick, rather that there was a decemt amou r of corrosion starting and i dont have a sand blaster to really really clean them up and then powder coat them or something.

I did have caliper paint so all the bare steel is partially protected, time will tell how long.

Left = drivers side pair, right = pax side pair

Drivers side

Pax side (worst side, corrosion went 1/2 way around this piston!)

Smile Hello. Possible new 2012 Impreza Owner needs advice

Hi guys. I've been in talks with the salesman for a 2012 Impreza.

I have never owned a Suburu, but my brother owns a 2017 WRX and its gorgeous and FAST.. nIm actually in the market for a new car. my CRAP 2011 Jeep Patriot gave up on me AGAIN. I came across a 2012 Impreza which is noted as "rare" as it has moon roof and navigation.

I'm planning on seeing this car tomorrow. Can you guys tell me more about the pricing on this vehicle? Is it negotiable?

Ive been wanting a Suburu for years now and I think I will pull the trigger on this one.. https://www.camelbacktoyota.com/used...c375933e9b.htm

Cheers and thanks for your time. Any PMs or replys are appreciated. I'm new to the forum as of today and hope to stay

Moon roof and nav aren't in themselves rare.

Those coupled with manual transmission makes it rare.

Sedan body? Even more rare.

Default 2012 Impreza thread

As an owner of a 2012, I wouldn’t buy a 2012

If interested in the Impreza I would look for a 2014 or 2015, just my 2 cents

As an owner of a 2013, I love my car, but I would do the same.

Not a single thing wrong with my 2012, they did iteratively make them better over the years, but you'll pay more of course. I think first model year of vehicles always have their issues however.

I've hadn't nothing wrong with my 2012 so far, literally done nothing but oil changes and filters pretty much.

Those option being "rare" means absolutely nothing on an econo-box.

I wouldn't pay more than 12k for it

So just hit 101k miles, going to bring my car to a mechanic next week to get a couple things done (front diff, brake fluid, check out suspension).

Anything else that is worthwhile to do at this point? Was thinking about fuel filter, if I do it now, it will probably be good til I get rid of the car at 200k+

Spark plugs were done about 40k ago, so they're probably good for now.

I wouldn't change your brake fluid. It isn't near old enough.
