Sti version 4.11 box, vs Version 2 RA 3.9
roarf.
so the box ive been running for the last 2 years has been a sti version 1 4.11 box code is: TY752VB3CA ratios: 1: 3.454 2: 2.062 3: 1.448 4: 1.008 5: 0.825 Final drive: 4.111 simple stupid setup - EJ25 dohc NA motor, redline is puny 6K. 4.11 box is awesome, its gota be the more fun street box imo, 1-5 are properly spaced out - 6K shift will land u at 4K. all 5 gears are useful, compared to the USDM 6box i drove with 1-4 really short and 5/6 useless, i much prefer the 4.11 box. the Sti-RA box (DCCD) that went in my car yesterday: STi-RA version 2 v-limited gearbox, code: TY752vb4ca ratios: 1: 3.454 2: 2.333 3: 1.750 4:1.354 5: 0.972 final drive: 3.900 http://www.catherineandken.co.uk/sti/wrx.html after driving both, the RA with 3.9 is INSANE. 3rd gear at 6,000 RPM (my pos redline) is 60mph. 4th gear is normal crusing, i can accellerate around town in 5th gear. its nuts. dccd dum dum (brainless - still in my front clip) is fun. its defaulting to id guess 65% rear, 35% front. really fun. i like it more i think :P

The RA tranny is known for the crazy acceleration compared to the normal STi tranny. I just wanted something stronger and still be able to cruise in 5th at freeway speed, and 4th for something lower. DCCD works nicely without the brain under non-adverse environment

my 3.9 is shorter than the 4.44's. i have the shortest gears subaru ever had in a gearbox. i think it would top out at 100 @8200rpm in 5th with a 4.44 final drive :P

with a 4.44 on your gearset it would be physically impossible to go over 128 mph (5th gear, 8000 rpm). In reality, it would be lower than this. Stock fat piggo (USDM wrx) gearset/diff combo can achieve a theoretical top speed of around 185 mph, but obviously the car isn't capable of anything close to this (drag, etc.).
