Rfelix89, that looks awesome.

I built something very similar to this except the iPad sticks out the top just a little. Used the stock dash trim plate and did some creative sanding and fiberglass work. I'm still working on the finish, but functionality is awesome.
(I don't have enough post count to post the image, but a few more posts and I will.)

iPad docks into a lightning->30 pin adapter that I modified to be 90deg, then into a Pure i20 dock behind the trim plate. From there into a Pioneer HU (for now).
Steering wheel controls all work via an Axxess SWC module hooked up to a Steer Blue BT box.

I only have a wifi iPad, so no maps/waze right now, but after the rest is done, I plan on replacing the iPad with a 4G unit. Tethering just doesn't cut it for maps or streaming audio.

Grim, That looks like my first design I wasn't happy with the tabs, so this is the new design. I still need to finish it, but it works like I want it to now.

I really like your ipad mini install, it looks really clean. I thought I would try to take on the impossible :P and make a ipad mini mount on the OEM Double-Din Head Unit on my Wrx'09. It doesn't have bluetooth, so I got an Aux bluetooth that auto turns on and connect to my ipad when i turn on my car. I finally did it and could not have done it without the pictures you've posted on here. I took pictures of my entire process if anyone interested in seeing this.

everyone: What's your thought on my red matte choice? Should I go with Matte Black instead?

Nice, great job!!! I personally like a more of a subdued look for color, but if you like it that's all that matters.
