I wanted a 2011 WRX, plain old WRX, when the MY2011 widebody first came out. I couldn't find a dealer in the midwest that had one that didn't want to jack me around with an ADM. They won't hesitate to ADM something like this. |

I'd be impressed if they delivered on this (an actual RA not some special color seat stitching/black mirrors package) but not holding my breath either. |

Things I'm not holding my breath for...
Dual clutch transmission Electronically adjustable suspension dampening More than 320 HP Also I'm confused. What's this four door sedan record the NBR car is going after? Its not a road vehicle so I only see these as competition and this car is like complete overkill for that. They might have been able to beat those with a production Type RA. 7:50 BMW X5 E53 LM 7:55 Subaru Impreza WRX STi Sedan (2011) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o...legal_vehicles |

I think you can exhale lol
DCT? No. They won't do that kind of R&D for a limited run. Adjustable suspension is definitely doable, but electronically? Less likely, imo but also doable and would be nice. The third is reaching...touch 320? maybe, but I have doubts there too. I'm thinking 310-320 hp, acceleration oriented gearing, an 11:1 steering ratio, adjustable suspension and all those supporting suspension bits. Edit: Most of those necessary pieces are readily available without much R&D needed since it was done with previous Type RAs Last edited by littledrummerboy; 06-05-2017 at 09:18 AM. |

Not
Coming Here Ever I have no idea why this is even getting any attention. They have always made alphabet soup special edition STI's and we got exactly Zero of them. They will not even sell us a Levorg. |

And this is in line ALSO with the "leak" statement from a poster of the JUV50 Heritage Blue. THAT is unconfirmed/rumor, of course; but, a piece falling in to place. |

Subaru of America Releases New Video Showcasing the Subaru WRX STI Type RA NBR Special
Cherry Hill, N.J. - Subaru of America, Inc. announced today the release of a new video of the Subaru WRX STI Type RA NBR Special. The car will attempt to set a new lap record for a four-door sedan at the famous Nürburgring race track later this summer. The video can be found on the Subaru of America YouTube channel. Stay tuned for information on the production Type RA coming on June 8th. They are announcing a new video of a record attempt. Nowhere did they say it was coming to the US. Geeze. Really? That is what passes for proof to you folks? Man, you are apt to believe anything if that passes for proof. SOA is hosting a video of a car trying to break a record. It will probably be very close to the Isle of Man TT car, which, not shockingly is NOT sold here either. Show me where it says this car will be coming to the united states to be sold as a limited production model in this track configuration. Unless you have that, you have ziltch. nothing. nada. The production RA could be nothing more than a sticker and wing package or it could be a full all out race car. But nowhere did Subaru say it was coming to the states. The Levorg is a production car. It is not coming to the states. I think if it was actually coming, they would say to be sold in the states. |

agree, and nowhere did they say we are getting a higher performance STI in the US. Telling us about the Type RA is not the same as saying we are getting here on our side of the pond.
What has changed that would make me believe this is coming to the US? Look anything is possible, but based on the past 15 years, I have no reason to think we would get anything like a Type RA we have seen in the past. If I recall those were all EJ207 powered vehicles with expensive light weight components and aggressive suspensions. Sure they will tell us about the production type RA, but odds are it is not coming to the US in anything but a sticker package. No way we get a 2.0 liter the rest of the world gets. |
