To the kid in the Top Gun-style Ray Bans hanging out the side of his friend's new Celica-
Please don't tell me about the intake and exhaust you're gonna do and the huge gains you're going to see. Its not your car. Yes, I have a sweet car. Thank you. No, it is not a twin turbo. No, I do not have nos, or a chip. No, I will not "light 'em up" at the stoplight we're at right now. I will however laugh when you accept the invite to follow in the twisties, and drop back out of sight. Maybe your frind has better sense than you, or maybe he left your dead dumb @$$ in a ditch, like he should have.

Dear SRT Driver on Dabney Drive,Henderson NC

I was very impressed by your display of power as you revved at me while Im setting behind a tractor trailer at the stop light. I realize I only drive a pathetic wrx and your car is fastar than the starship enterprise, but still I realize now the error of my ways.I also enjoyed you rolling down your window to tell me you have 25psi of power and planning for naws. I suggest you race John Force as he might have a chance against you.Your excessive wheel hop at the stoplight indicates raw power and a talented driver.Just because I was working on import cars when you were twelve is beside the point.you are a god

Regretfully yours

To the fine young gentleman driving the V6 Mustang last night:

I know that you think Mustang = muscle car. What you fail to realize is your car is a bloated, outdated, slow piece of dung with a Borla exhaust. The next time you pull up on a WRX, go trade that thing for a GT. You never know, next time I might launch my car higher than 1500 RPMs.

Regretfully yours,
Stock WRX driver

Dear Sir in the MB CL500 on summer tires,

Although I did notice your strikingly similar appearance to Christopher from the Sopranos, I still found it in my best interest to show you what a car nearly 1/5th the price of your car could muster on the I-295 ramps and interstate. As I stuck to your tail through the entire 4 mile jaunt at triple digit speeds, I calmly sat back listening to my favorite drive time talk host, Jay Severin. Yes, I did notice that slight fishtail on the cloverleaf on to 37 East, but I maintained a respectable distance, cautious of my impending fate similar to Ralph Ciparetto in Season 4. Finally, as you politely moved aside as you exited to Route 2, I did notice we exchanged exacting waves and nods in respect for our similarly performing, yet polar opposite priced vehicles.

Stupidly yours,
“Used to wide open, straight, cop-free Midwestern highways” WRX driver

Dear drivers on Rt 3 south just south of the MA/NH line and before the Westford Rd exit.

Yes, you might be faster than the Neon on the trailer.
Yes, you might be able to pull into the right lane just in time to not ram the guy directly in front of you.
Yes, you might somehow be able to make this exit from the left lane.
No, you can't just squeeze between the trailer and the Jeep pulling it. Same comment for the 5 of you who tried while my wife followed in the Outback and couldn't believe it.

Dear DSM driver and 3 friends pointing and laughing at the light near Wal*Mart,

As I mentioned, the Cobra only weighs as much as a CRX (my racecar is a CRX, so I should know).
I neglected to mention 325HP and as much torque.
Oh, I guess the lack of stickers hides these facts....sorry.

Dear Moderators,
If you feel my posts were considered "street racing" please feel free to delete them. I would beg to differ about the actual content of the posts, but I'm not going to argue over semantics in posts intended to be funny.

Dear Police Officer Man,

If you decide to pull 3 cars over please don't do so on an exit ramp off Rt 9. You make everyone stop to see what's going on. You make the traffic stop for 2 miles because everyone wants to see what you are doing.

Sincerely,
Late for work when the big boss is here.

Dear Local Soccer mom driving a Ford F250,

The speed limit on this road is 35 MPH. As you are a local, you should know the road well enough to know that. You do not have to hit your brakes for every corner and downhill because 25 MPH seems too fast to you. I have driven an F250 on this road as well, towing a 10,000 lb trailer, and at 40 MPH it is quite capable of going around any of these corners with no drama. You also do not need to slow down to 15 MPH for the 25 MPH School zone at 7:00 at night. Kids are not in school then.

Thanks,
kfoote

Dear inattentive moron in the Ford Taurus,

Please explain to me why for some reason, 40 MPH in a 25 MPH zone and 35 in a 50 MPH zone are both within your normal driving realm. Please pick a relationship to the speed limit and go with it. If I attempt to pass you because you are going 35 in a 50, please do not then decide to speed up to 60 while I am trying to pass. Also, there is no need to ride my bumper when the speed limit slows to 35 again, and I am going 40.

Thanks,
kfoote

Dear Mass Pike Truck Driver,

Yes I realize that with your heavy load going downhill at 85 is no problem. However, when you come upon my poor little subaru doing 75, it is ok to pull out with more then 10 feet before my rear bumper. And when you swirve, please realize that your are driving a veichle with 18 wheels, and not a go cart, so a little finesse may be required to change lanes.

And when we start going back up that hill, and you slow to 60, and said subaru desides to pass you, please check your mirrors more often, for as good as the awd is, having to drive on the median because you moved into my lane is not as fun as they make it look on TV. Perhaps next time you will hear me as my supertones are going in this weekend.

Sincearly,

The little blue wagon.

Dear Mr. Mitsubishi Eclipse Driver,

Please dont intend to go straight at the Spring st. intersection into Waltham near the I-95 junction in the left lane. Notice how the street has "Left Turn Only" written in giant big white noticable letters. Just thought you might like to know.

Oh, by the way, thanks for cutting me off!

To the talented Honda Civic driver on 101 about a week ago who was bliping their engine at the stop light next to me and signaling you wanted to race to the lane drop,

I must admit I was impressed and scared to death of the sound of your massive engine torqueing up at the line. It reminded me of the sound you would hear in the wheel wells of old Hundai's while driving in the rain.

I'm sure you were just as surprised as I was that dispite the fact that I left the light like a grandmother and never tacked over 4K, I still beat you to the lane drop. It could have been dumb luck on my part, or it could have been related to you stalling the car TWICE while letting out the clutch. I'm still not really sure.

Warm regards,
The guy you got stuck behind for the next few miles driving 5 MPH under the speed limit who usually turns off right at the lane drop but had to rub salt in your wounds.

Dear Bangor drivers;

The speed limit on I95 through Bangor is 55mph most days, unless the road is snow-covered, which has happened about 3 days this winter. That speed limit has not been adjusted for at least 6 years. It is exceedingly unlikely that the DOT has dropped the speed limit to 35mph today, or placed a stop light at the end of the ramp.

Respectfully yours,
The guy who daily gives you a 500-foot head start on the ramp but often ends up stopped behind you at the end of it, watching a near-solid line of cars go by at 60-70mph, which would be an easy merge were I not stopped.

Dear Mr Dodge Hemi;

When you come up to me while I am sitting at a red light. Please do not pull over to the second lane, point, laugh, and rev your Superior & Enormous HEMI engine at my puny scooby. Just remember that this isn't a Dodge Hemi commercial that is fictional and that you cannot believe everthing you see on the boob tube.
When the light turns green, you will not pull away from me. One other factor is that you do not know that I only have 420 miles on it. I will not go beyond the 4000 RPM rev limiter. In fact, I will only need to rev up 3500 RPM from a ROLL. Once I pass you, I then will drive the 45mph speed limit. So please, Mr. Hemi don't be mad and tailgate me. Just be mad at Dodge for false advertisement. I am assuming that you will never want to see the Hemi commercial ever again, but for now you will be looking at my STI emblem!
